What's new? (I suppose that would be helpful)

1.) Can you say "no more tail-slide of death"? It's now a pleasant "Flat spin that scares the crap out you"

2.) Top speed, turn rate and climb-speed are now reasonably close to historical (considering this is a beta)

3.) Did major Damage-model and DOF work (still needs further refinement)

4.) "Housecleaning". Went through and re-aligned some parts, removed useless texture references etc.

5.) Hanger pic and stats.

6.) Fixed the "Hiroshima" drop-tank bug.

7.) Re-did the training missions.

Hows that?

Thanks a ton I love this aircraft. I DL and tested for 10min and the only thing I can see that will need to be adjusted is:\

Took F86 into a dive and pulled out level at 398mph. The F86 shook badly and then came apart on me.

Is this the correct speed for breakup?

... Bulldog1,

You 100% sure of that speed?

Above 19,000ft. it reqires a pullout around 850 mph to break-up. Below 15,000 ft. it only require apull out around 580 mph. to bust it up.

(I have a feeling the increased air density intruduced with the 1.5 patch may be affecting the low-level viscosity.)

Mind you... it's BETA and your imput is much apperciated and your find will be looked at further!

THANKS!!

Zur!

I have to thank you... I've been out of the SDOE mood for several months now but last night I took your baby out for a spin...and I'm hooked again! (by the way, my wife is not too pleased with you right now.. ) I had one of those moments where you look around and can't help but feel that you've experienced something as close to real as you can get. It was in the air to air combat training mission, I came in from 4 oclock high at about 80 knots of closure, got a good guns pass and took out the right elevator and right outer wing. I came around in a hard left turn and dropped in on his six and watched the ai try in vain to maintain the AC. The pilot finally gave up and bailed out at which point the F86 began to pitch up and slide to the left, as I passed by it I saw it slowly slip into an uncotrollable spin a spiral to it's death in a kind of slow motion plea for life. It was truly captivating.

Now, about that cockpit...

Hey Zoy, love the 86, but a comment if I may. The airbrakes, well, I've seen footage of a f86 with airbrakes deployed, and the airbrakes, well they go a helluva lot more downward than they do outward. LOVE IT!!

Z -

Nothing is really wrog with the cockpit... I guess I'm just spoiled by the level of detail in alot of the planes compared to the F86... and yes, I know it's not done. Just greedy for a pretty cockpit to go with the outstanding ac model.

Biggles,

Well sort of.....

Zur has done a load out option for two cannons...just select 'cannons' as the loadout when you create a mission.

The other things to be done to make it a CA-27 Sabre ar eup to Zur.... I hope he does do the full conversion - including it appearing under Australia....but that is up to him.

BUT it makes a lot of sense getting all the 'bugs' out of this one before going onto different variants.....

Cheers,

AGAS 5

RE CA version...

"Yup"... as AGAS-5 hinted at I do plan on a full Aussie version. (If requested evan a Japan and German versions if requested)..

But your right it oly makes sense to "de-bug" and finish what needs being done before conversion!

Zur,

First let me say this aircraft is incredibly fun! I've done a couple 2vs2 missions, and I had to giggle like a school girl a few times when viewing one through the gunsight- the images of footage flashing in my head. Very cool. Rolling scissors, vertical scissors, high speed yo yos, etc. haven't been, to my memory, this much fun. When not careful, the craft will put you to sleep pronto!

One thing I noticed, and I'm not sure if it's good or bad, but when going vertical, If you try cutting power, going skyward until zero velocity, you'll then start a decent (with your nose in the same direction- straight up) that is unrecoverable without applying power. Going straight down to the ground (tail first). Otherwise, I found myself in unrecoverable spins a few times from just the normal abuse. It's also one tough sucker to land and when you do, the runway is never long enough

Argh! now it needs a MiG-15...

WOW Zurm, that looks really awesome! And I like the cockpit!

But still, is that jet really so powerful? I did a vertical climb to over 20,000 feet without going bellow 200 mph, sounds like it would kick an F-16's butt, no? But I know nothing about jets heheh

This model looks so nice, AGAS - 5 - those enhanced screen-shots look so neat!

...SV,

Yeah, the climb is to strong. Problem is there really "is" no reliable way to model a jet engine thrust in FS. We can "fudge" it. For the low-power Me-262 it was fine... But for the speed of the F-86 it's just too damn powerful.

It's one of those things that I'll need oodles of time to figure out. It's getting closer.... Just gonna take more time.

...Gustang,

Yeah, that's a troublsome bug...

at least it's now recoverable! (wasn't before)

Still on the "fix it" list with the climb-power)

what is her given top speed? the A10 tops out unloaded in level flight @ 500ft at about 390mph, but bleeds speed nicely in climbs, yes more poweful than the props, but from testing it's about spot on for the bleed now. I've only had a short test with the last beta so I can't really say anything about the new one, I just don't seem to have had time for anything but trying to build up the A10, but she does look wicked, very very realistic on the eye candy, and I just love how we're covering all time periods now

Hi Zur;
i checked my skin file on your site and it seems that you show the first version of it (i mean the little pic before download)
and the content of the zip is not the last one i sent you or it's a mix of the last two.
just for unfo for those who had already downloaded it the right .tif are those with the JGlen id,you just have to rename it.

Regards
