Hello fellow Sdoe pilots ! I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to install and use the terrains mentioned above. These terrain come in as data11.par & data12.par. Would there be any incompatibility in online flying if these files get replaced by these ?

Also one more question, I have installed nations 1.0 and the fix for it. Was wondering how to move the zero and the Ki6 to teh japan folder. They are now in Germany...

For the terrain just change the number to one not in use in your install (up to 15), or youll lose online compatibility, as for instance data12 is part of the plane pack.

Open up the loadout.ppf file for the Zero in Notepad .....change the first few lines to this :

descName "A6M5 Zero"
descCountry 'strJapan
descPicture "GUI/Art/Hangar/Japan/a6m5/cutaway.bmp"
langBlock (
langUS (
descStats "GUI/Art/Hangar/Japan/a6m5/stats.bmp"

NOTE...you will have to create the folder:

Fighter Squadron/Media/GUI/Art/Hangar/Japan/a6m5/ and put the cutaway.bmp & stats.bmp files that you got from the equiv Germany folder in it.

ummm... I think this is for offline use only though....

Cheers,

Spyder as I catch you

A .par file monitor utility converted in a nice GUI where you just say "I want to fly this in that terrain" before lauching game would be a must have if it converted terrain numbers to the ones available for .par files, as the 16 .par file limit is getting a bit over crowded ( I no longer play on a 16 color 16Ko ram sys either how's it this limit keeps getting old ). It would just need a good view of whats already gone on so as to use only 2 or three of the not yet used numbers...

Despite the 1.5.1 patch still being in beta form. It is worthy to note that you can install the Island and Tundra terrains in the OpenPlane folder (seen in the Options screen). It allows you to activate or inactivate parfiles according to folders defined within the folder for example:

"Media/Openplane/Tundra/Data11.par" would show up in the OpenPlane options screen with a selection box beside Tundra. You can then enable or disable as you like. This overcomes the limitation on the number of active par files.

Although I don't recommend the more recent builds of the beta patch, Build 65 seemed to be pretty stable and is worth looking at for use offline.

Thanks guys for your quick replies. Did as you said ( renamed the data*.par to a number not in use ) byt still got CTD. Then I started to "mess" with the folders and found iut that in the media/terrain folder there was no island & tundra folders. SO I made these abd added the data.par file there too ! From then all terrains with data.pars run OK !

About the planes, I will only move the ki61 since this plane is not online standard
