Argon,

Thanks for all the hard work on these "beau"tiful planes. I have been running missions with them all weekend!

And yes I did notice that broken gear so thanks too for the fix.

Last night for three plus hours, JG300x_Dragon6 and I flew all variants of the Beaufighter and found it to be awesome aircraft(s). We did experience some difficulty in landing, but a technique was soon developed and landings became second natured. As for firepower, you don't stand a chance if you get in front of one of these babies. Even head-on's with a 262 resulted in several pieces of the German fighter fluttering to the ground. Attempted a scenario with with a A6M5 vs Beaufighter 21. The Zero will most of the time get around behind the Beau 21 and score some hits. But then the Beaufighter's pulling power kicks in and is able to pull away with it's tail gunner scoring hits on the Zero. Just wanted to say to everyone involed with the construction and developing of this aircraft and all it's variants, GREAT JOB and THANKS,JP

Hmmm.. the B-29 is out for contract work, and the J7W1 is being puzzeled out (I am having a rough with the inlets on the side of the plane, but I have a solution I am going to try tonight). I am thinking of modifying parts of the Beau to slowly get them looking better (increasing the close in resolution only) by doing things like adding the intake ports on some of the variants, a bit better wings, and maybe a bit better inside canopy. What has always held me up is my modelling program (ac3d can't do holes/subtractions) but I have enough tools on hand to remedy this and am going to try my multi-step export plan out. The original was pulled from a fst file, with no attachment. I might have the original authors name in my mailbox - as someone sent me a list of names and planes for a few I have sitting around.

BTW, thanks for doing such a good job on getting these birds all polished up. Amazing.

Firstly, WOW!! Awesome work. One question however, is there any plan or intention to do cockpit work so that they aren't all identical?

Also, in related news, the four Beau variants have been posted in the hangar (aircraft comparison tables) of Abbeville Field. Enjoy!

Thanks guys, but it was really nothing to fix the minor problems. Bishop and Whirlwind deserve all the credit here for these beauties. Whirlwind, I hope you enhance the cockpit and make the nose more round. This would increase the accuracy of the aircraft compaired to its real life counter-part.

It does kind of look blunted. I've got my semi-acurate Signal Beau book here and hopefully, I'll get some parts done for it, but not all at once.

Hmm... it just needs a nose job and some pit tweaks, other than that, hey, he has it covered. Beg my pardons, I hadn't had time to really look it over. The model has mostly been worked over from where I had it. It looks sweet now.

Get working boy! She is pretty darned beautiful eh?!?!

P.S. Could you also add a texture for the prop hubs for while they are not spinning?

I would if I could - I can't even texture the B-29 I have found a program that I am looking at that allows me to paint a wide variety of model formats (demo version, so no saving) but AC3D makes it too tedious for my taste. The nose shouldn't be all that - aside from probably hosing up the texturing job that has been so well done.

There is a texture for the slow prop hubs... it's in the beau__2.tiff textures (the prop blades are also textured from this .tiff). I think the problem lies in the way I textured the polys. I was planning to remodel the prop hub to reduce the poly count but never got around to it. Let me take a look and see if I can come up with a quick fix.

Bishop its not the slow prop that has no texture. It just the prop sitting there doing nothing. Turn on the engines and you will see a noticable texture change. It goes from a whiter greyish looking color to a dark greyish looking color. Dont cut down the prop polys. I like them the way they are

I think I've got the props fixed and am currently working on rounding out the nose (It's tricky though, because the engines hide the fuselage in three views, all I really have to go with is the top view). I will also look into reworking the aft canopy. Hopefully I can get this stuff done pretty quick so I can work on fixing up the fuel gauges and expanding the loadoats.
