I'm a long time fan and player of A-10 Cuba! I just received FS: SDOE in the mail today and started it up. It's awesome! It blows away WWII Fighters or any other flight sim out there with PHONY damage modeling and physics (like that horrible game European Air War). I'll never understand why great games like this are ignored by the gaming industry while CRAP like Combat Flight Sim get all this attention.

SDOE is a great game with a great fan base -- I can't believe all of the great planes that have been made for this game!!! Awesome!

I have a Celeron 466, 160 MB Ram, and a Geforce card -- the frame rate is incredible even with anti-aliasing enabled!

Just as with A-10, I FEEL like I'm flying a real plane in SDOE and not some hunk of polygons and textures as with European Air War.

When SDOE came out everyone complained that it didn't have a campaign -- I'll take a bunch of missions in SDOE over some horrible flight sim with a campaign (see: European Air War). Then they even had the gall to complain about the physics in this game and said they were realistic enough -- realistic? You call European Air War realistic? Give me a break!

Glad you like it! Be warned, however, there are a number of people on this board who either like those games or elements of those games and will debate you until you're blue in the face everyday of the week and twice on Sunday if you're not careful. My suggestion for you is to keep an eye on the forum and see if there's an add-on project you can get involved in. Expandability is the lifeblood of sdoe, imo.

No offense to those who like WWII Fighters, EAW, etc. But let's face it, SDOE is the best game of the bunch -- maybe the best game ever! :-0

This ain't religion - liking one simulation doesn't preclude you from liking another even if they are on the opposite sides of whatever yardstick is used to measure a simulations worth.

Welcome to SDOE fandom. It's a very small but select group although Argon and others have been trying to drum up interest in other forums. Unfortunately, many people aren't wiling to give the game a second chance/look.

Actually Argon, I wasn't even thinking about you when I wrote that. I got burned a long time ago by the tag team of Siggi and Spanky, with a little Pops thrown in for good measure and thought I'd try to spare our new comrade the pleasure.
