hi

I have MS prescion pro,and use it via the UBS or normail game mode. The trouble is that I cannot play SDOE, it is too sensitve. The plane go up and down like a yo you, and it is impossible to fly with it. In fact most the planes behave like a UFO, in this game.

It is the sim or is it the stick, the game does not like? There is no way the real FMs fly like this, even cfs is not this bad. If I fly like this is EAW I would be dead long ago. So which is it the stick or the FMs? (by the way I am for full realism, not point in modelling planes from WW2 if they do not fly like the real planes do, might as well fly a space sim for that matter)

I do have the stickworks programe but I do no have a clue for the best settings for this sim. So if some one can help it will be always apprieciated.

In the joystick software set it to minimum sensitivity.

In SDOE (and this is important) All joystick deadbands should be 0.

I also have a precision pro and in SDOE it doesn't perform like it does in CFS: not much force feed back etc. I sympathise. You seem to have been having a lot of probs. But stick with it.

I almost gave up on SDOE when I first got it out of box because the planes seemed so uncontrollable. I fiddled with the joystick settings (trial and error) and according to my ini file they are:

JoyDeadZone=0.10
JoySensitivity=0.26

This exact figures aren't vital but the message is these things have to be turned down really low. I have my force feedback setting somewhere up near 0.75. Lower might make it easier but I want to feel something.

The sensitive fighters like the P51 are the least comfortable. But otherwise the handling has become normal: you just get used to a lighter touch. The trouble is when you play different sims. I've been playing WW2 Fighters recently and when I came back to SDOE at first it seemed so jittery. But I'm getting my touch back now.

Hope this helps a bit. I sense your growing frustration.

Set all your ingame sliders to zero and set the stickwork axis on 80%. That's a starting point. Then tweak stickworks to where it works for you. I always use the P-51 as my test plane. If it works for the P-51 it will work for the others. Don't over do it or you lose maneuverability.

I have also a Microcrap Sidewinder Pro.

I myself use 80 % rudder output.( R axis )
90% Y axis output
100 % X axis output

Hint: dont set the rudder at lower sensitivity when u fly WW I planes, you need the rudder full output for good turns.
