Spanky here..

Hi guys.

Please take the 5 minutes to fill out this quick poll.

Its just asking about the computers we all use to play SDOE.

I figured the more the modding people know about the computers we use. The better they can make their planes and stuff.

Kinda a way of coming up with a target computer to shoot for when making a game.

Take my SDOE player, computer survey

Hi guys, Great responce so far, I hope to get at least 100 before I draw any conclusions though.

bout the comments.

About #7, I ment people that play SDOE online. Just so plane makers know if people use their creations online.

I havn't a clue why a selection of win95 wouldn't work, No its not rigged

About the p3 500, Yeah I thought I had more answers to use but I was limited to 8 so i had to cut some corners, I can't keep up with all the intel pentiums cause there's freaking 1 2 3 and now 4 not to mention all the sub varients like socket and slot 1 and stuff. LOL.

I probly should have just say post pentium1 266-450, 500-700 and 750 and above.

I actually wanted to add a 1 ghz, section but ran out of space.

Answer to the comment about Q#9, I ment would you rather

A. have SDOE moders concentrate on higher frame rates with their stuff.

B. Have them work on better looking planes then the shipped planes

C. Try to make them pretty much the same as the shipped planes in terms of graphics and FPS.

Hope that clears it up.

Thanks for the comment pete, I thought it was a good idea too. Hope it helps people who make stuff target their stuff a bit.

If you ask me since as it stands right now that 86% of people have 16 megs or more of texture ram, we could probly up the amount of texture ram used by planes and objects a bit. NOT a crazy amount but a bit.

I know on my system with a 16 meg banshee. I can load up to 9 different plane types before my ram saturates and starts drawing some all messed. And when do you see that many plane types in one mission? I would figure the max is usually 6 or so.

Could one of you texture ram, math wizards see how many planes we can load on 16 megs like they are now?

Just a thought, and one of the reasons I put this poll together.
