Well I was bored today and since I didn't feel like working on the P-39 or the B-25 i figured since most of the other planes have been getting updates and people seem to leave the P-38 alone, So I took it apon myself to play with it. I completely redid the main fuse so it looked more realistic. I also added the counter weights to the elevator and added completely new wheels.

I'm going to redo the wing pods tomorrow to make them a little more round and have real intakes on the front. I've removed the supercharger from the paint scheme and i'm using it for the counter weights. I'm adding a new 3D supercharger to the wing pods and 3D tail area. The last little thing i'm going to do is add the rearview mirror to the top of the cockpit. It wont be a real mirror but it will still help the 3D model to look better.

Heres and image of a scheme i'm working on and the updated model.

Now we're talking How does this affect JT's p38 rockpit? Does it still fit, or will it need to be remade to match?

Nice! It looks far more like the 38's I've seen from WW2 gun cameras now. Smooth, slick and deadly. As apose to what it was which was a bit ragg'ed 'N' square.

Great Job S!

Nice!! I've been wanting to see this one redone for a long time! The P38 and the Me262 have always looked a bit too edgy to me. Great work Razer!

Well, it maybe a completely new center fuse but the hole is to specs on the factory fuse. The cockpit will fit right in and wont need to be adjusted.

I shouldbe able to get all the new things added today and released tomorrow or tuesday. That way you all get to play with her.

Razer, could you send the changes that you are miaking to either Snickers or myself? We are working on the 38 by trying to get the FM and DM corrected. We are also doing some(well, snick is) some model fixing as well. This would keep the number of 38's being released down to a minimum. ;}

Mirt,

no problem. I'll send it over as soon as i add the 3D supercharger. If you could mail me sometime tomorrow or have snickers mail me. i'll send it out. I don't want to send it out over AOL. Since that's what i'm on now.

Well, i wont release this since Snickers and mirt are updating the FM and DM on the plane. i'll just send them the new model and i guess i'll continue to help them out (model wise only)

here's an image of the most current P-38 with 3D Superchargers.

Razer,

Are you planning to add the seat-back armour plate. That planes looks good for racing around pylons but I wouldn't fancy my chances against even a rifle calibre round. I think my computer chair has a more protection than that

You know I flew Janes WWII Fighters for a year and everyone says they have the best looking airplanes. Well not anymore! If you have that sim take a good look and compare. You will notice the modeling is fair, the texturing very good. You will also notice the artist and builders of SDOE have gone beyond Janes models and texturing to create the best looking warbirds on any PC!

Guys, you are doing an increadible job, thank you.

Oh yea, I forgot to add! I've also openned up the rear intakes so they aren't blocked off. You can see though them, but i'll add a solid area later so it looks like a radiator.

I'll be redoing the engine pods and spinners later this week.
