Everyone I have been bugging will be pleased to know that I have found a site that has home network software that supports more protocols than TCP.

If any of you are having problems with applications that require dynamic UDP port assignments this may be the answer. I have not tried it yet but it looks ok. Cable routers, Wingate etc. etc. do not allow you to set up this capability.

Here is a bit of software that anyone running a game sever in a closet should not be without.

Network guys take a look at this for me.
http://home.t-online.de/home/sog-luebeck/hhproxy.htm

I forgot to mention what the biggest problem is. With The router or the current home server software only one computer can be exposed to the internet. This will make running a game server dificult if I want to play. I will have to chat on the server and connect to the game by way of the local network. Try running NetMeeting or other meeting products and you will see what I mean about the protocols. Aces High is optimized for UDP, you can check that one out too if you want to see what the protocol problem is. I currently have the Linksys EtherFast Cable/DSL Model BEFSR41 which is a fine product but is only TCP.

I was also wonder if anyone knew if the Sock5 software was something that would allow me to communicate in UDP without the current problems. It seems that you can add the Sock5 software to any server.
