... With AC3D?

I've been using AC3D for months now with no problems ...

Suddenly starting today, I can create what ever I want ... but when I go to import it into OPStudio ... it crashes to desktop! I tried importing something I made weeks ago and it imports like a charm! So the problem is in AC3D not OPS ...

I'm thinking it might be related to the LOD export plugin because I was able to export my part in VMRL open in MAX and export into OBJ ... (yeah I know MAX is tons better but I haven't taked the time to learn it!)

I have this setup installed on two completely different computers and have the same problem on both!

HHHEEEEELLLPPPP!

Check this out:

I import lods into OPS using the default FokkerDR1A sm file. If I try to directly import my lod created in AC3D directly into my project or any other plane besides the Fokker, OPS will 80% of the time crash. I then export this lod as an obj file, and re-import it into my project.
No wonder I am slowly losing my mind-

I don't make much use of OPS myself because it crashes from time to time for no readily apparent reason on my system. (I suspect my S3 Trio 3D graphics card). I don't usually use the LOD import/export functions, I only load full .sm files. I know the the OPS LOD export function definitely still doesn't work properly.
(well at least in the version Pete Hawk
is using )
(wrong format for colour values and vertex
numbering starting at 1 instead of zero.)

I assume you are using the latest OPS beta
plus the LOD plugin fix?

Nothing has changed in the AC3D LOD export
plugin for ages. Do the exported LODs you
are having trouble with import back into AC3D OK?

Hippie.

I just re-downloaded OPS 1.3 and everything is fine again (aside from what Hippie mentioned).

I had some bad LOD things happening upon importing new parts, but reinstalled that beta fixed everything for me.

Yup ... I have the latest'n greatest of everything.

The really weird thing is, aside from a few odd instances, I've been building parts in AC3D exporting to LOD and importing into OPS with great success. However now I can't even import simple objects which should pose no problems what-so-ever!

The kicker is that I'm having the "exact" same problem on two completely different and separate machines!

I'm at an absolute loss ...

...Hippie,

No I can import them back in with absolutely no problems (other than the fact that it quadruples the vert count like it always has. That's easily fixed by optimizing the verts)

I'm desperate to find out what's up ...

Here is azip containing the last thing I built ... the drop-tanks for the F-86F.

The zip contains both the AC3D file and the exported LOD ... PLEASE could someone take a look at it and verify if it's just me having a "senior moment" or is something really screwed?

thanks ....

Haa, I can't get OPS to import LODs at all,
It just show some blank selection dialog
box after I click on the file to load,
and says I haven't selected an object to load. This is with B1.3.0 and the LOD fix plugin. I think I need some OPS driving lessons

Hippie,

If you export a part out of OPS as a LOD, it should import back in fine. However your LODs from the OL and SMD progs won't work for me.
