I'm thinking of making one of Nats little guys animated, and part of my Harrier. The plan is to have him out in front of the airplane when you first enter the mission and he's standing out in front of you (for his sake don't start in the air! lol), and an automatic DOF starts his arms waving. The trouble is with Looping DOFs. Once they are on they can't be turned off! I'd love to be able to have the loop cycle say 3-5 times, and then he goes hidden/invisible. Michael, is it possible for you to add "loop and then a number, zero for repeat forever, and then say 1-99 for repeat only this many times? Here's a test AVI of what he'd look like... 100k file http://kickme.to/hawker IP: Logged |

Having the ability to add little guys like this would enhance the game TONS (but as long as we could have them go hidden after so many repeat loops). And decent switchin distances would cut down on frame rate issues.IP: Logged |

Spanky here... SOunding cool. I would love to see some army jeeps pulling away as you started a ground start mission. So it looked like you just got dropped off at your plane. And some guys pulling some wheel chocks away and giving a quick (maybe even random with the ob prob) wave to ya. way off on a tangent here. But if we can do looping stuff that never stops what about waves on the shoreline? or flowing rivers and water falls? hmm, some cool birds flying around the airfeild. Can you say bird strike? To bad that anything dof stuff woudl have to be custom made for each airfeild cause even a jeep on a looping dof that drove around on a predetirmaned track and time would be cool. IP: Logged |

Spanky it all sounds great. But until we can have a DOF pull a vehicle around AND the vehicle follows the terrain without sinking into it, I think we are limited to simple stuff like this marshaller. Otherwise you'd have things going airborne and then disappearing at times through hills. But doing a guy or vehicle that moves in a small "flat" area would work, but like you said, the entire terrain map would have to be edited unless you just did moving placeable ground objects (probably the best solution). The tornado worked. It would move accross the terrain, spinning, looking ominous, and then it'd zip back to it's starting point and do it again. It looked REALLY cheezy, so much so I never posted any pics. IP: Logged |

Yeah Spanky, pulling the chocks would be cool (can't tell you how many hundreds of times I got to do that in real life with the C-5, C-141, KC-10, many civilian airliners, etc) As far as waves go, I'm not sure. Probably possible but a HUGE job requiring many many DOFs. Michael, if you are reading this, is it possible to do my suggestion, and would it be easy to implement for you? Thanks. IP: Logged |

RE: Waving I don't know, if Dirk can pull his cockpit shut, he should be able to be polite. How about some of the ground chief moves (start it up, unchock, GO! etc.) I know they sound like small things but the small things add greatly to the feeling of immersion....------------------ Snickers =FC= IP: Logged |
