Harrier_Alpha2.zip

This one has a test flight mission, get to it in the Hangar in SDOE. Read the readme and update your keyboard.inp file if you haven't already. This one flys MUCH better than before. Cockpit is nearly done, just minor touch up work left. Panel is basically complete. Nozzles are modeled and textured... I could go on.

Give it a try.

If you extract the zip to your Fighter Squadron folder you'll end up with a XV-6A Kestrel in your Hangar (under US planes) and the test mission will put you at Royal Tonbridge Field, Dover.

It doesn't show up as Harrier. I did that since it IS a Kestrel, but most people think of the Harrier, that's why it's a Harrier.sm file.

Michael (Harrison), maybe you could host me a small site?

As soon as any of you fly this new one, please let me know here that it all worked (or didn't) for you. Just wanna make sure I have all the right files in there.

Thanks

To me, the best place to land (and do touch and goes) is up by the Tower at Woolrich Field, Dover (way up on the hilltop). It's a blast! Here are some pics...

Love raising Dirks arm too (the A key) I always do a mission with about 3 of these planes since I crash often!!

This plane has cause some to have a CTD upon entering a mission. I "think" it's because the Alpha 1 Harrier release uses the same name in the mission editor. Go ahead and delete your F15C directory or just rename it to _F15C and try the mission then. It should work for the test mission in the Hangar since this is a Harrier.sm file and now resides in the Harrier folder.

DL ver.2. I'm having probs taking off.

Flaps down
V
Engine slowly increased to 45

Issue: when I slowly push up the throttle I reach 45 then it points nose up still on the ground. I have tried all joystick directions to keep it down and balanced but I just can't seem to take off level.

Please help because I love this AC.

Ok, if you are on the slightest incline it'll go nose up. In that case do the shift-v method, get a little speed and do a 50 knot takeoff. If it's really flat ground I usually hit V, slowly bring up the throttle and usually the nose pitches down (with 1000 lbs of fuel) just a slight bit and I can add more power and take off. Not sure if the flaps help or hurt. Try without them too.

I'm working on making it better for VTOL.

Thanks for the response, OK i did only load it with 500lb's so that could be hurting too. I'll go try with 1000lb fuel loaded.

NICE WORK, keep the updates coming.
