On your PE-2 you got the two separate RPM gauge needles working correctly, which is really cool. On my Kestrel I'm trying to do the same thing only the needles don't overlap each other. There's the large needle in the center and the smaller faster moving needle is in the upper left quadrant of the gauge. The large needle moves as it should but the smaller needle goes way out of whack now and then (seems to lose the dof center) and it always is spinning as if it's winding up, and never stops or runs reverse. Any ideas?

better for the tech section

ideas: hmmm

I would check: the dof of the small needle, what about the parent object ?, is there an 'obDependend in ?

The "never stop" thingy appears on the Pe-2 RPM gaugees too, don't know how to fix..

Well, on my PC your PE-2's rpm gauges always work perfectly. Yes, to all your questions, my DOFs are very much lined up correctly, and the code is all the same as your's (except mine point to my engine of course). It's very puzzling, I'd venture to say it has something to do with the DOFs not sharing the same origin, whereas your's do. Oh well, it kinda works now and I've moved on.

Thanks.

Well I hate to interfere, but can you forget the Kestrel and get on with the 163? Please?

RASAR...

You won't go too far by asking someone to give up a project that means so much to them. Pete has been here a looong time and has opened up the jet choices in the game. When he is done, he will get to it...and believe me it will be worth the wait. But if you really expect someone to drop everything and instantly follow your demands, you will be sorely disappointed.

Raser, Jeeves is right. Just be patient. Asking and making demands on things that are out of your hands is crazy. These planes take weeks and/or months to build and get flying well in SDOE. Each is a massive undertaking and a huge learning experience. With each new project you find out more about OpenPlane, what works and what doesn't. Even if I were to start on the Me163 right now, you guys wouldn't see a beta for at least 3 weeks to a month (if that, unless things went perfectly, maybe 2 weeks).

Just enjoy the many planes that are out now in the meantime. Download all the plane packs and they'll keep you very busy I'm sure. The longer I take to do the Komet the better it'll be. I don't want to drop the Kestrel because the thing is so fun to fly, I'm very inspired to the best I can do with it right now. Once it's done I'll move on. I've been into OP probably longer than anyone else (besides Parsoft of course), I'm not sure if you knew that or not. But I'm an old hat around here.

Be nice, be patient, good things will come in time. Be glad there are people here who are putting in HUNDREDS of hours of work and not being paid, so you can have fun.

Giving, it's a great concept.
