I was playing with my rough B-29 (well a 39 right now, has inline engines yet ) and on the return trip from my bomber test mission the pilot got killed off. I didn't notice because I was playing tail gunner. What set me off was when the plane started it's lazy spiral into the ground. The copilot was playing rock.

I took over as copilot, and fought the still loaded bomber back to the English coast line and began scouting for the nearest runway. The interesting part is, I had to fight with the elevators because they were almost stuck in an slightly up position. What a battle. The more interesting part was when I dumped the bombs, the plane suddenly started to climb. What fun.

I've got no clue as to why the copilot was just sitting there, yet I could jump in and fly the plane. A copilot is crew type 'copilot, right? Any ways, the elevator fight was odd, as is my ability to fly the plane when both the copilot and the pilot are patte'. A nice fringe benefit of flak.

What a mess.

As you can see it still needs some work. I wouldn't had posted any if I didn't at least have the green house done. Can you guess the plane it was derrived from?

Once again, if the images don't show up, I stuck them on this page:

If anyone would like to do a part of the B-29, let me know.

Left to do:

- Tail gunner position, cabin, turret.
- Coversion of the 4 turrets to just like the B-17's except no fuzzy edges on the scope. If needed I might have some workable photo's of the gunner's site.
- Fire controller/radar cabin, aft of bomb bays
- Forward cabin, including radio room, engineers console, pilot's positions, and bombadeir position
- Bomb bays
- Tunnel between the for and aft cabins
- B-50 engine nacels (darthbob is working on the B-29 nacels)
- Simulated fowler flaps
- Model tweaking

I plan on pushing through with the windows and bubbles. I might get enough info to finish the nose cabin (no panels) today.

Hey Whirlwind, I'd love to help, since I have some free time, why not? Whirlwind, are you going to model the turrets accurately, cause its very complex and I know how it works.

Due to not being able to come up with an idea that will allow any gunner to take over any or all the turrets at one tome, probably not, but the diagram is good info. I wish I could, but it would just baffle the AI.

I am ponering if the bomber can fly a plane with dead pilots becase that is the only idea I have as to why both piloys were sdead and the AI was still flying the plane.
