Spanky here..

Hi guys. I was thinking of trying my hand a some more writing and was wondering what would you guys like to read about?

sorry I can't do an "add your favorite plane to SDOE in 3 easy steps, all in 2 days for $0.99" just yet. LOL

I was thinking of somthing to do with building or adding on to the game.

ONe idea i had was how to add your own squads or somthing. Its reletivly easy but some people would probly want to know. Or if I was crazy maybe how to add your favorite country.

ANy other idea? I'm not afraid of learning new things first and doing research like i did with the mission editing one. I just need a subject.

Thanks for any ideas.

Well-- while I don't claim that us in the Nations team are the "know-all-and-be-all" for this Spanky, I have to warn you that in doing that "unofficially" you will screw up the online standard. It can cause a whole lot of problems and mismatches...as we learned prior to the Nations first release. There is also a lot of work as far as getting the voice coms, some specific squadron patches and info, etc...so while I can't stop you from writing up a tutorial about the subject, I have to voice my fears on what could be a huge mess if it is not coordinated in some way...online! Now as far as offline play goes, go crazy...as I am sure many have-- I know the WWI guys have done this- and if you need any advice on the subject, Werner and I became experts before Nations first release

Spanky here..

Hi man, Thanks for the heads up. I was actually thinking it could be cool for either people that want to use it offline or people that want to help with the nations project. I assume you get asked 101 questions when someone decides they want to add a country. This time I would ask the 101 Qs and that would be it as people could refer to the article from then on.

BTW do you mean adding a country could screw up online or even adding your own squads could do that?

Yes..adding squads and use them into new missions give CTD with other pilots.

I have extra squadrons ( our European Air Force 92, 322 and 331 squadron, and our main enemy LLv34 squadron ) in SDOE
Complete with photo's and info.

I use the squadron names ONLY in offline
missions.

If someone want them,,mail me.
You can easily add them with GroundCrew.

Dont forget to chance squadron names when u going to use them online.

Ok Moose, thanks for the confirmation.

hmm, Theres not alot to adding a squad but a ton of work adding a country right?

I'm thinking all the squads, the sounds, medals, and gui art?

guess i'll open up nations and see exactly how it all goes together.

BTW what par is nations?

Using new custom squads WILL NOT cause problems on-line, even if the other players do not have the new squads.

I am not sure about new countries though, this might be the issue.

Sv I had many cases of CTD due to a custom squad.
When the mission was changed with default squads..the problem was solved.

But..maybe it works sometimes ..nothing is impossible with SDOE

Watch out for special characters in the squad name. SDOE itself has a couple of these and they dont work right either....

Spanky here...

OK looks like some testing is in order LOL.

Yep I'll watch for those, what chars are bad though? Is it just the really wacky ones? Like ones I wouldn't even know how to get? Like stuff for german squads?
