Ok, since the Harrier is going over like a Led Zep around here I'm gonna work extra hard at finishing it up so I can get back to the Komet. At long last a ridiculously quick fighter for SDOE. Forget the Harrier! Komets are ultimately better (for 8 minutes at least!!) Oh and try to make the Komet have the realistic amount of T-Stoff fuel in it, give it a take-off "dolly" and retractable skid... and make it eXplosive! Dissolving Jerries is fun (no offence Germany!!) ------------------

For the dolly how about this. You retract the skid and that "breaks" the dolly's DOF, causing it to drop away. Should be really fun. IP: Logged |

You should be able to give the dolly its own little airfoil which breaks and drops it at takeoff speed, like the canopy on the Jug or the wheels on the Spit 9.------------------

Jedi, I dont think thats a good Idea, because then you wouldn't have any choice at what altitude the trolly falls off.------------------

To get the Mistel to separate, I just jacked the P-47s breaking DOF, hid the LOD, removed some airfoils that I had no use for and made slight dofSpring, and dofBreak and dofRuntime changes. To make the skid retract and the dolly break at the same time give them the same dofCmd. To make the dof break at your disscression with no delays, make sure the runtime for it is VERY fast (the Mistels breaking dof runtTime is .01) This will cause the airfoil to move at such speed that it breaks at a key press.[This message has been edited by ArgonV (edited 08-11-2000).] IP: Logged |

Just have the breaking DOF when the skid retracts! So much easier!! I can't wait...

Mr Picky or what!!? Of course it was up for takeoff. If you have it down, however, then it's easier to make the dolly drop, is it not? Anyway, when you tell an aircraft to start at an airfield, its gear is automatically down. This is called a cuss-me-do. You are right Raser. I think it'll have to be down in SDOE, otherwise it'd create a problem for the game engine. We'll see when the time comes though, there may be a way around this.IP: Logged |
