Good point Laika, I forgot about time zones. Ahem. August 8th MOUNTAIN TIME. Oh yeah, did I mention that my time zone is one of the LAST in the world in a given day? For example, it was already late evening on Jan 1st in Australia this year before we started counting down to the new year! muahahahaha!!Werner "The Terrible" Molders [This message has been edited by Werner Molders (edited 08-07-2000).] IP: Logged |

Well, I was chatting with my boss tonight and it seems I'll be reeeeeeally logging the hours this week so I'll break the news a few hours early. Ahem. Major Announcement #1: My new site is up and running (100% operational) a month ahead of schedule. Firstly, a big thank-you to Dogma for offering space ad-free on the 3dgw server. Without his generosity and bottomless patience this would never have happened. Also, thank you to everybody who sent me messages of support and encouragement after the bcatp's demise. This has been a long, difficult, and at times hopelessly difficult road to travel, building the new site, but your messages kept me going during the tough times. Many of you made suggestions, some I've encorporated and some I haven't. My focus for the site was two-fold: 1. Uniqueness & 2. Ease of Maintenance As a result, frames and java are nowhere to be seen, and I've dumped the roster (for those who remember my very first bcatp site, that's all it was - roster) because it was a pain to maintain for the few people who used it. I've also focused on quality over quantity. For example, all skins posted have historical information next to them so you know what you're downloading. Since I am still committed to serving those who use the site, if there are elements you miss from the old site, please let me know and I'll consider re-integrating them. So, why should you bookmark the new site, "Abbeville Field"? 1. Official Source of the Nations Project (exclusive) 2. Historical Rating of Paintschemes (exclusive) 3. Aircraft Comparison Tables (exclusive) 4. LUFTnet (exclusive) 5. Immersive Briefing Room for Campaign Downloads (exclusive) 6. All Downloads are linked via simfiles so you are guaranteed the latest versions of the files you need! Note: There is a Phase III of site development on my sketchpad right now that would greatly increase the usefulness of the tables and the LUFTnet, so if you visit them and aren't convinced just yet, don't write them off. Evolution of ideas takes time! One more thing: comments would be very, very welcome! keepinga@cadvision.com Where do I get my grubby mouse pointers on this site you wonder? Click on the link in my signature below! ------------ Major Announcement #2: After corresponding with the nations crews in France (Lfbpro, Luny, Pachy) and Australia (AGAS 5...), I am convinced that second release of nations will be made in a matter of weeks now, instead of months. I won't hazard a guess at a release date just yet, in part because that would put unfair pressure on the two crews (nations has always maintained a one-release, no public betas policy to aid compatability and frequency of downloads). So, in short, for those waiting for more nations to fly as, the end is in sight! I'd like to point out also that, to date, I've done zero to bring France and Australia to the point where they are today, the aforementionned crews deserve all the credit. Now as the last raw files are completed, I'll start to pitch in. Credit where credit is due... Tada!!! Werner ------------------ Visit Abbeville Field Today! AGAS - Would you like some cheese with that whine? (guffaw, guffaw) Small, but morally significant update to the airfield main page. Don't want to make a big stink about it, but I realized I had, of all things, forgotten to add this in before I threw open the front door yesterday. In any case, I hope you all are finding the site useful and will continue to frequent it in the future. Thanks for all your kind emails of support & feedback! It really makes my day to read that kind of stuff. Werner ------------------ Visit Abbeville Field Today! IP: Logged |

As a show of support for gterl's and diego's italian "fakes" project, I've added the Regia Aeronautica to the airfield's hangar. The Cr42 and Br20 are my favourites! Great work guys, keep it up!Werner ------------------ Visit Abbeville Field Today! IP: Logged |
