Incase you dont know what a Ramp Strike is thats when you come in for a carrier landing too low and wrap yourslef around the deck. Anyway, found a pic of a panel from CFS2, well, let me tell you, I am already turned off by this, take a look. Will you buy CFS2 if it looks like this?? IP: Logged |

Looks fine to me, plus as in cfs and flight sim in general you will see downloadable cockpit replacements etc in no time, no big deal. Either way, I can read the guages in that pic compared to Sdoe's and I'll bet they all function too. Only thing I would be concerned about is the gameplay, that's the real test.------------------ IP: Logged |

that panel graphic sure is old. The SDOE gauges are quite simple to read, and SDOE is FULL 3D IP: Logged |

Have to agree with Spyder. I see nothing wrong with that panel....wish I could see gauges half as well in SDOE. But it is the game play that is important...I will likely get it, even though it is Pacific Theater and I have little interest in that.Hope it comes out a bit better than CFS1.

I always thought the one good thing about CFS was their panels - they looked alright and you could read the gauges. I prefer SDOE over CFS but having to use the function keys to look at the instruments during combat can be a little too much - and I hate using HUD.However, it is somewhat odd that they're using 2D panels when everyone seems to be going the 3D route. Welp, you gotta give some to get some... IP: Logged |

but if you look at real warbirds the panel wasn't in front of you like that. you sort of had to look down a little.IP: Logged |

Looks like the same old story to me. A well overated game with NO Fm and just plain simple models with no real detail. If you look at CFS2 most of it is downloadable on the net anyway as patches for CFS1!!! I agree the cockpits are nice (acurate to a degree) but 2D doesn't go as well with 3D as 3D itself I do hate those huge gunsights MSFS uses!!! THey are bloody awful and so so hard to aim with as they obscure your view! All i ever needed was a little X or circle like in a P-51. Way i see it is ALL Microsoft products seem to sell the Brand name and Never the game! If it gets good reviews by Friends and people here then maybee i will look into it....I enjoyed CFS1 but lost interest very quick... IP: Logged |

To me, CFS2 looks like the first CFS with updated graphics.IP: Logged |

I hate to break it to you guys.. that is a 2d panel... not a 3d panel. The 3d panel is probably going to be static and look like crap. Just like they do now.... of course, that is assuming they actually model the 3d panel at all. If they do it will be a pic with no moving dials. Too bad, I was hoping they would learn from WW2 fighters or SDOE and actually have a 3d cockpit. BTW, this is why padlock didn't appear in many early sims... the use of 2d panels doesn't allow for panning around a cockpit. Mirthain=FC=IP: Logged |

As far as I know, they will release with both 2D and 3D cockpits. From what I've seen the 3D cockpits in CFS2 look pretty nice... definitely better than 1. Seems like a big waste of resources to provide both, but I guess the "community" is really divided on the issue, as evidenced by this thread. Personally, I think 3D cockpits are the way to go now that computers can run them efficiently.

Hello AllI had a look at some hoohah on CFS2 at simcombat.com the other day and: 1. the screen shots (albeit, not cockpits) looked very good and 2. it cerainly appears that the designers have high aspirations and great ideas, including lots of thought into campaign design. How it all pans out in the end is of course another matter. Let us hope for the best. S! MW IP: Logged |

Since I'm a WWII sim fan, I am naturally very curious about all games that fall into that genre, including CFS2. Thats why I was extremely disapointed when I learnewd that multiplayer in this new version, would be no better than CFS1. No co-op mission, etc.I would have thought with the proliferation of online only sims, and the cry from the sim worls for good multiplayer action and support in boxed sims, that all the companies making these games would have gotten the message. Clearly I was wrong. PR=FC= IP: Logged |
