Is there any way to change the tracer graphics in the game?

Darthbob, the animated gif is done using a utility that comes with Paintshop Pro - it's very easy to use.

I think the only thing that can be changed about the tracer at the moment is the colour, but with the semi-opensource out there who knows

Nat, I used to do WWII aviation paintings in acrylics. I did a 56th FG aces series amongst other things. I'm no Robert Taylor but at least I thought they were good enought to hang on my wall. I was thinking about using SDOE screenshots as a template for future projects because it is so hard to get the proportions correct for the aircraft if you don't have a good image from the angle you want.

Crossbow, your new tracer.tif goes in Media/effects/textures directory and can be changed by Chameleon. Can anyone remember where the tracer.tifs are posted. If no one relies I will post on Simfiles.com later if I can find my Zip file.

That's very cool Yardstick. Are those light beams painted in or are they part of the SM file? Looks nice.

Hehe at first I thought that was an actual in-game screenshot, and you had built the height-finding spotlights into the .sm file!

I was about to send you my first-born as payment.

But then I thought about who would have to mow the lawn if I did that...

had me going for a minute. My first thought was "how the h**l did he do that?!"

A few minutes later, I thought of one...

Two alpha polys made to look like light beams, which are billboarded, extending from the bottom of the plane.
