I have 3 project that could be released next week sometime if you guys and gals give me some information.

I can release beta versions of 3 planes next week if i put 2D tails on them. The next release is going to have 3D tails but if i go ahead and do the 3D tails now, it will push the release for the 3 back 2 to 3 weeks cause a have a bunch of other stuff to do on the planes and with real life stuff.

So i'm asking this, Do you want 2D tails for the releases to have new toys to play with or wait 2 to 3 more weeks for the 3D tails?

It's up to you guys. By the way, The Ki-61 is not part of the release. this is 3 Other planes, (well one plane and 2 variants)

No images on the planes, sorry. They are in heavy development and can't be shown.

If one of them happens to be a B25, release them......

Otherwise, I can wait.

We have a lot of planes in flyable but unfinished state, but not tht many which are really done. ( apart from FM tweaking for realism etc.)

One of the things that is starting to bug me with WW1 is the number of planes released that just don't work. They are all 'Beta' but never seem to progress once they get posted. I've set up a seperate install of SDOE for Betas cos I got fed up of odd crashes etc.

BUT.....

WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH BOMBERS.

B17. Lancaster and thats the allies lot

Ju88, Ju188 and thats it for the axis.

We await a Betty and an He111 which are in the works, and Laika's Pe2 ( now there's a guy who finishes his planes before release!)

B25 please

I could probably "3-D-ize" the tail feathers for ya (depending on how they're textured).

Of course, I'd need a beta to work with

None of them are the B-25 since i'm not really working on it.

Jedi, the tails are just a flat polygon that's textured on both sides. I could do the 3D tails myself, but if they wanted it released next week it will take me sometime since i have other "Real Life®" stuff to do. If you want i can still send you the beta once i touch it up some.

I say release them for beta testing so you can go back and fix what ever problems may come up that people find. It saves less time and gives us new planes!

Wakeup, what problems are you having with the WWI planes? All the ones that are going to be in the pack are basicly done. FM tweaks are in the works now. There have ben a few planes that people did that were "good nuff" and will probably never be updated. I did some updates on these cause I was unhappy with the finnished state. Please tell me what planes you are having problems with (besides the Dh2, that one is a little bugger) and I will see what I can do or have done.

P.S. Why has the Ki-61 ben put on hold?

The Ki-61 had been worked on for months but it had never been scaled. After bjorn touched up the DOF's and fix the pilot problems i relieze the pane was very very small and the whole thing would need to be scaled. Well this was after i spent 8 hours on the cockpit framing to only have about 10% of my work , work in game. So i said "f* it" and i started working on Kraft's baby and touching up the B-25 Model. I've since spent all my time on Kraft's baby and no time of the B-25.

I have some nice work to show ina few days but i first have to fix a few things like the tail and finish the mapping. Lighting is pretty much done (well two spots on the left wing but they aren't bad)

I'll go ahead and do the 2D tails and leave the 3D tails for a later release.

Look forward to some nice screen shots soon.

Razer, that must suck. What did you use to do the model, MAX or AC3d? In AC3D cant you scale the whole thing proportionately? I cant wait for the screen shots!

I only touched up the He-100 model, which was BS'ed from the start since it was the very first plane ever made for SDOE. So scale and construction was off. I haven't had time to redo the model from scatch so it's still way off. I may just fic the small things on the Ki-61 and just release it for the hell of it. Since it needs so much work, it will be a month or more of work to get it to top notch work. Who knows.. I've gotta get back to work! POOF!

Been off-line for a few days, so sorry for the late response.

Argon, the main ones which give me a hard time are the AEG III with it's annoying extra body points, the Pfalz DIII goes up in flames when I take off....in fact, the only ww1 planes I can rely on are the ones in the WW1 pack. These are 'finished' products in that they can be played without frustration. Downloaded the Bristol Scout from Aladars page, spent 20 minutes dogfighting one, manouvered for the kill, got the position, closed in REAL close... blasted it ... CTD

There is a fine line between getting Beta planes out out to test and imrove FM's and tweak DM's, this is GOOD. Buggy Alpha releases should be sat on until they are playable. I'm sure there are enough people out there to playtest these things.

Why didn't anyone tell me about the Bristol Scout Problem?? Thanks a shit load tailgunner. I'll take a look at it, or better yet, since I have no idea as to what causes CTD's can someone take a look at it for me?? THX in advance!

If you find nothing, mail me. I'll try and re-create the event and document what happens. Trouble with my setup is another possibility. This is why I now have a Beta setup and a good setup. 'good' being Planepack 5.3 + fix, WW1 pack and contest pack and Nats ground object pack. Everything else now lives in a seperate install.

As stuff gets better, it can migrate across.

Hopefully, this should also give me a stable environment to test out mystery crashes in too. Stick the plane in a good environment and any anomalies must arise from the plane........

3-D tailfeathers are done I'll send it to ya tonite sometime (need to look at a couple things). I also played around with the model, adding the gun barrels and gun flashes. I'll work up the loadout.ppf to include all 7 guns, with the machineguns on one trigger and the cannon on the other, and send you that as a separate .sm in case ya don't like it. I just wanted to see what the big dog would eat
