Yesterday I hooked up my venerable old computer to a high-zoot projector and woweee! The living room wall was now my screen. I can't post any screenshots of that just yet, but it was unimaginably awesome, especially with the stereo in cahoots with the projector. I'm running 800x600 and it was just awesome. 21" screen? Try 8'x6'. It gave SDOE a WHOLE new dimension. I'm so stoked, I still have the proj on loan until saturday... This is most def the way to go guys! Unfortunately, this was a $5000 projector...[This message has been edited by Kraftwerk (edited 07-28-2000).] IP: Logged |

That is very cool I had the opportunity at my last job to do the same thing but never did. Wish I would have now. That sounds awesome.IP: Logged |

My company concentrates on DLP/LCD Projectors and high end Plasma units. www.buffalo-stampede.com You should try grabbing an XGA 42" Sony Plasma display screen and run at 1024x768 to say VR would be an understatement.IP: Logged |

I've once done that, too, on SDOE, and on Commandos-Beyond the Call of Duty. Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-it, that was so ooo AWESOME, man!!! It's like being in the cockpit! IP: Logged |

Hey Bulldog, maybe you could make a recommendation? I'm saving up for a top-of-the-line TV in the next six months or so. Where should I go for a movie-format flatscreen? Is the tech even there yet, or should I hold off? Maury IP: Logged |

One of those projector things would be great! The resolution is pretty bad on a normal big screen. IP: Logged | |
