Okay ignorance is bliss! I am currently happily running with DirectX6.1a on all my favoritesimulations: Fighter Squadron (of course), F-15, F/A-18, EAW, WWII Fighters, F4, Hornet Korea,WarBirds, Dawn of Aces, etc.Is there an advantage to upgrade to v7.0a? Is there a problem with the older simulations created by upgrading to the latest version? Any response will be appreciated. I should have state that my main video card is a 3d Prophet geForce 32 MB but I also have dual DMII 12 MB boards in SLI mode. ------------------

i have Dx7 and it gives me hell!!!I want to down grade but it wont F*****G let me : - ( I have two Voodoo2's linked and Dx7 doesn't like it...as a result I don't run at full power so to speak and get loads of error messages. This may be a problem with me..but Dx7 does make so stuff run better like EAW for example!  ------------------

I upgraded with no probs and it did make a diff with the colours in SDOE being more vivid, cant remember if the FPS improved but it definetly did not get worse, heard some people had probs and had to do a full Windows reinstall. I have TNT2 card, k2 400 and 128mbIP: Logged |

DX 7 and 7a didnt give me any problems. It actually fixed some. My old AWE 64 sound card didnt like DX 6 so I went to DX 7 and it worked. But I got a Soundblaster Live! a week later anyhow.IP: Logged |

Dx 7.0a makes things better for me. The graphics are better drawn and it increased my average FPS be 0.5-1V3 2000-1.00 drivers ------------------
