Well, I just laid my hands on a 21" monitor that was so damn cheap it'd make you cry.. managed to just about fit on on my big desk, and what do you think the first thing I did was... Yep! SDOE at 1792x1344 resolution!!!! This thing is so damn big! and SDOE.. Damn it really is a whole new game, Max res with no extra lag on a big monitor.. damn I just didn't know what I was missin, I really aint seen nothing like it.. and the feel you get when your whole frontal view is filled with SDOE is truely amazing.. If you were like I was before, on a 15" monitor and thought SDOE looked good.. shit guys, you aint seen nothing yet, believe me!Sorry if I go on, but damn I'm buzzin... The monitor is a beaut and SDOE is just.. well.. WOW! ------------------ JV44 "Naturlich" If you can't out run em.. OUT GUN EM! Nats FS-SDOE Site IP: Logged |

Nat, welcome to the world of big monitors! I play SDOE on a 17 inch and it suits me just dandy. But I have experienced SDOE on a 28 inch monitor (thats right a 28 incher!) and I know what you mean when you say your whole frontal view is filled. IP: Logged |

Nat, how cheap is "damn cheap?" I've got a 19" monitor and it's very nice, although now it doesn't seem nearly as huge as it used to.IP: Logged |

Also playing on 21" although I usually bump down to 1600x1200 so the chat text isn't too tiny. VERY nice for hudless flying, no ? TS

before I tell you how much it cost maybe I should explain.. no, I'll tell you first lol.. £25 for my compaq 21" P110 monitor, it comes with 6 USB ports on the thing aswell.. so I'm gonna have to check out there website about how it works, if a special lead is need to activate them. Now onto the "how only £25" OK, this is Gods honest truth.. a guy I know here from my darts team is a security guard for a place here that destroys this stuff, all different kinds of electiral equipment, PC stuff and home entertainment. So tonight he ask me if I want a big monitor, and here I am, I know it sounds dosgy, but he's gen up, thats what he does, and sometimes they come away with some pretty nice stuff 100% legal? well, I guess not, stolen.. not in my books, it was gonna be destroyed.. damn right I'll have it IP: Logged |

I also bought a used 21 inch monitor but only ran at 640x480 when I had the 3Dfx Banshee. Now, I have a 3Dfx Voodoo3 3000 and run glide at 1280x1024 with the same FPS as the Banshee at 640x480. I can run it at 1600x1200 using directx but it is slower than glide.IP: Logged |

I'm running an AMDK62-500 with Voodoo3 2000 pci, I used to run SDOE in D3D at 1024*768 and averaged about 25 fps in normal missions, but I'm still getting the same fps now although I'm running at over 1700 pixels.. the thing I've always notice on benchmarks though is that it seems to run better at higher res.. never knew why though.I use D3D rather than Glide because on my system there is no difference in FPS whichever I use, but I find the D3D image is better Schaf, upgrading to an AMDK62-500 is cheaper than you might think, if you're motherboard can take it the CPU only costs £40 now IP: Logged |

heh nat thx for explanation..i play too at d3d i think..there was no diference in speed..but i don't want to mention opengl..and that are diapositives anyway..i'm planning to buy duron and a new motherboard..duron600 is so cheap..well..according to the speed duron600 is almost tha same or even better in some cases as athlon600..so..for now i' gonna buy duron and later on i have a chance to upgrade to thunderbird.. maybe next cpu will be 1ghz thunder? ) joke..or not ------------------ SchaF bailed out!
