I've just got an Idea, I for one hate coming in for a landing gear up, and blowing up!!! Well, maybe, you could create a object with no LOD, put it on the undersid of the fuselage, and all the engines and tail, and give it an unlimited number of hitpoints. Would this work?

I have survived many a gearless landing. Just dont try it in the Mistel with the Ju-88 attached however, you will blow yourself out of the sky

I enjoy ditching B17Gs(not teh original, its the improved dm), however some planes are too fragile to ditch

In this case I believe that should be "You'll blow your self *into* the sky."

The easy way to stop this behaviour is to increase the obHits on the root model to say 400.

What people forget is that fraction of damage is passed from child to parent object. Stuff like the wing roots objects and fuse need beefing up.

With obHits 400 on the mossie you can safely belly land the plane.

ALSo bare in mind that for a safe ditch you need to be:

-ON GRASS!

And

-Very slow...under 100mph if you can

..I'm done.... : - ?)

I discovered that you can do belly landings in the 262 without blowing up if you turn the engines off.
