OK, with the fixed 109's and updated FM's on a few planes, I think it warrents another version or patch for the planepack. I know there is some new things out there that should be included and we've been over due for a new pack. If you have a plane with an updated FM that wasn't included in the contest pack or the 5.3b patch, now is the time to get it ready. I have no idea what ever happen to the Damage fixes since Kopper has gone AWOL. Lets get this rolling, Even though i still have no net at home i'm willing to get this done so we can see some updates. Might want to include the new Mustang if the FM is ready. Lets have it guys, hit me with the updates. If you mail me something to get added, send it to Files@fshangar.com subject "Planepack Update" then tell me what the update is. ------------------

I have - new Yak - updated 190a4, Spit V, Spit1a FM's - open hangars Would like to see: - common engine DM for all planes (fuel leaks, fires). Maybe the .303 and .50 calibers will kill something online then. - all of nat and mposis's new ships - new zero - new p51 with climb rate toned down - new p38 with WEP power - pe-2 even if it's not totally finished? Let's test 5.4 alot online first.. plane packs are slow coming these days so we'll have to live with it for a looong time. TS IP: Logged |

Just a note: From what I've read and seen in combat footage from WW2 these birds we have don't catch fire half as much as they chould from cannon fire!!! Mr. Blob, The way fire damages things right now makes it hard to model parts taking damage by continued burning. If the Ju88a4 seems good to you, I'm sure it wouldn't take much to add it to the planes. Problem is that it seems a bit "scripted" to me. Pang, Laika did an excellent job with engine fires, engine damage, killing the pilot, and fuel leaks in the I-16 and its really easy to copy and paste. I put it in all the planes I'm working on. It uses obprob so it isn't "scripted" One technique he used that I like is to have a small fire that turns into a big fire after its inflicted enough damage. TS

Ahhhhhh - YEAH, damage model discussion ! Where is Björn - the mad doctor ?? Seriously - I would say the I16 DM is not perfect at all (at least I think it is not, cause I really can't remember what I did there ). One thing that needs to be better is the Pilot-kill-mechanism. It does work, but only partly (see flak fire..). So I thought about changing the lod of the mysterious 'Ab thingy inside the pilotxx.sm files (somewhat like the heard of the pilot), so we don't need those weird fire-thing I used on the I16. Engine Damage - we should find a standart for hit detection and at wich damage levels (what) functions are called (i.e. 25%, 50% and 75%). Then we could change those functions (fuel leak, fire, explosion etc.) individually for every plane. However - RAZER !!! Could you wait some more weeks ?? I would add this to the I16: - new pilot (lod+DM) - better cockpit/instruments (less texture usage for the I16..) - better gunsight - moving ailerons (when they are used as flaps..) - better FM (if someone would help me...) and yeah - I would give away a free Pe2 beta, but fully functional: - working DM (maybe a bit basic, but better than the "normal" shipped DM - good FM (if Tail could do this in 2-3 weeks, see DM) - full working instrument panel - working crew members (...) - intensively tested by the whole Pe2-test-team = bug free ..so beta means only some graphical stuff (like cockpit glass, some more inside detail etc.) !!! Im also in favor of waiting a few more weeks to get some of the things that are in progress into the pack.How about instead of 5.4 we deem it 6.0 (since it will most likely be a major change dm and aircraft-wise) It will also be nice to not have to worry about dl'ing 5.3 plus the patch plus the contest pack. So Tail, What did you improve on the A4? As you know, I can't stand it the way it is now. Its slow, loses power with very little damage, and seems to stall and spin for no reason. It turns like a battleship too. It use to be a great plane  I hope you addresed some of this. And thanks. Maybe it will help with my frustration level  ~Maaco~ IP: Logged |

Hi Maaco, I posted a beta version awhile back on here on the forum would appreciate your feedback if you have time to try it. I just made the takeoffs easier, even the AI can take off from the hardest airfields. There is a new DM for the engine too. Climb rate and top speeds at alt still match the real plane at military power. It turns slightly better than the p51. The spit bleeds speed faster now and the p51d will hopefully have a lower climb rate making the A4 more competitive. TS

I'd be more than glad for the ships to be added, wait for a while on the SenToku sub though, I'm doind a little touching up on it, but far s I can tell, the Akizukim Yamato, Scharnhorst, Cargo ship and Troop Ship are finished, or atleast, I wont be doing anymore work on them I think.One thing I would like to see in the new pack, although it means someone taking the project on, is to toughen up the B17, I really think it falls apart far to easily, especially when we see how much damage they could take and stay in the air IP: Logged |

I think that Archy had a tank that could go in but it may have had a few bugs. Seems like I got kicked out when playing with it online. I had a blast driving it around and shooting at him though.The reason I would like it included is it could be driven toward a target and that would give you a time line in missions. KILL the FW quick or the tanks shoots your downed pilots etc etc. If it needs any fixes to make it into the pack now would be a good time. IP: Logged |

Hey if you add WEP to the 38 you need to do it to all that had it. No point making one with an ability that the other doesn't right? The 190 would be nice with a few minutes of Wep when needed. Spyder search back for the discussion on this if you missed it the first time. Snickers is working on the p38 and wants to calibrate it so it has climb rate and speed at WEP with no external fuel tanks rather than the fighter configuration, no-WEP it is currently calibrated to. Please give us and online and offline plane pack. It is no fun running at 12 fps and trying to kill some warpy guy who has decided that he is invinsible. I don't know if this cam be done but I know there is a problem. I have a P3 450 overclocked to 112mhz with a VD3000 overclocked to 185 mhz. When I host the mission we flew last week in the war it took me down to 12 fps and almost a full sec for throttle to respond. I think that if we want fancy stuff we need to leave it for offline play.IP: Logged |

I will try and have all damage set on the P-51D this weekend. I just got another updated 3D model from Zoycite. Wait till you see the new skins he made.I want Pang to have enough time to do his FM magic. Probably will not have cockpit refelctions yet. (This would be optional along with the movable Joystick, Rudder pedals and Landing gear lights) I would also like to see the ships, drivable Tiger tank, Stuka ground unit and the new Weapons added to the new pack. bomber u need to tweak ur graphic settings my celeron 400 with a 16 bit banshee and 128 ram easily quadripled the framerates ur descibing! get sdo control bring ur fog in yurn ur textures down a bit and make sure u have the latest glide drivers even a big mission with a couple bombers u should be getting 30 plus fps from the bomber cokpit easily.

I have a p3-700 and I also have problems with FPS. I adjust my fog distance as far as possible so my MIN FPS is still over 20. When I load up some of the contest planes i drop below 20 and lag. Not really interested in lowering my fog distance for one or two planes.. I'd rather be able to see the ground from high up. TS

I wasn't aware the 190 was configured like it has wep tail, does it actually disengage at some point? Are the spits capped at war power or just max throttle? I know the early mks had a few mins worth through the gate not sure of the IX so I guess it isn't worth the trouble for that short time.------------------ IP: Logged |

Spyder, AFAIK the original spit V did not have any kind of boost setting. When I said that all the planes were calibrated to WEP, I meant max military power.. see the 190 post I brought to the top. TS

I don't think the updated Go229, He162 ,Ta152 will be in the planepack. It's a long story behind it but they was banned from the pack back at the begining of 5.3 beta's. I don't want to go into a lot of detail since it would take me awhile to explain it all. The only reason the 229 is in the pack at all was because it was orignally made by Pete and he asked me to put it in. I don't have a problem with everything else and i'll be glad to put anything you guys want in the pack. I just can't put those planes in, sorry. I would have no problem putting them in out of respect for Panzer since last i heard he was still in the hospital. That reminds me, has anyone heard anything new about panzer? ------------------
