Ive been messing with this thing, and while
its pretty crude compared to the ones in
janes sims, its ok, and i think i can understand it...exept for that duration
deal. i experimented with the waypoints programming, skill level etc, but most of
my german fighters just tool around and
wind up crashing into mountains, making belly
landings, and only a few attacked the B17s...
once. id love to know how to use this. AND...
can you add any textures to the pack planes?
they are all in those funky data files.there
isnt a texture file, is there? I still found
it fun to be a gunner....i actually nailed
an me-262.....yeee haaaa.sometimes i actually
have the sound of the 50s firing. oh yeah, I
saw this GIANT splash of water in a river...
I thought a nuke had gone off...what the blazes was it? .....Carl

Mission editor is kinda quirky but quick and easy to use. If you want you fighters to attack a bomber just put them in the area set skill and aggression to max. Make sure the target box is big enough and they are close to the same elevation as the bomber and set the first and second boxes to enclose the route of the bomber with the fighters set to cap.

The splash you saw was most likely a 109 hitting water. I think this will soon be corrected. If you have more questions catch me on cal 12 and bring the 5.3b plane pack with you.

Carl,

Are the german fighters on CAP?
theyll only attack an aircraft in on CAP and its within their patrol rectangle while on that leg of the mission. Sweep is for ground targets.

The par files just contain a directory structure, sort of like a zip file. The heirarch goes like this:

Files in folders override par files, and high par file numbers override lower par file numbers.

So all you have to do is create the directory structure for the aicraft
Fighter Squadron/media/aircraft/P51D/Textures/

and put the right file in there.

To see the directory structure you may want to download the par file tools from www.openplane.org. You can use Big Munger to view everything in the par files, including where directories and files belong.
