You know, I think we could all have a lot of fun if a few of us decided at the same time to have a mid-life crisis.

We could all move away (since our wives don't see a lot of us, and probably wouldn't notice anyway), rent a big house, and pretend we're all 19 years old again.

I'm not sure how long the money would last, but how much do you need to make rent and buy beer?

I used to be a pretty snappy fry cook in my day, and can actually do a wide variety of menial labor tasks quite well actually.

We could leave our models on the kitchen table, watch TV all day, and talk about all the stuff we try to talk to with our friends about WWII aviation and simulators, except we'd probably have interesting, heated discussions, instead of looking at people look at us with blank stares, and the occaisional "Blink, blink..." thrown in.

Oh God. Another call just came in that something is screwed up on a deal, my 16 year old is yelling at my 4 year old, I'm yelling at both of them, and my wife (rather intelligent gal that she is) is far, far away.

Yup, all we'd REALLY need money for would be computer upgrades. We could just buy army surplus clothing (reasonable cost - long wear), and I could go back to my teenage diet of dried beans and macaroni and cheese (boxed, without milk or butter, just water).

Hey Tail, how much does a big old drafty house in a so-so part of town rent for in your neck of the woods?

NOW you're talking MK!

(remembering the look on wife's face when I got real excited about finding "The Hunley" in the video store)

I don't know how she puts up with me.. I even drag her to air shows

Don't forget to bring the LAN for lag free play.. should we call it "MK's combat commune" ?

Me and my college buddies did that 2 summers ago--- we went to Martha's Vineyard for a week and all we did was eat lobster, smoke cigars, and drink beer and whiskey!!! Oh-- did I mention the wives were there too? That's OK...the cigars kept them at bay

Count me in! My wife has already given up... so what the heck! Will there be any cheese and crackers? And do I need a sleeping bag or is a bed included in the rent?

Well, Tail, what do you think? I guess it depends on if you pay an equal amount of rent, or an "adjusted" figure.

If like you were a busboy instead of a fry cook, and didn't quite have equal cash to throw in for rent and utilities, you might have to "bag it" in the living room, which means that you'd have to put up with computer speaker noise, really, really, loud stereo stuff, and at best, the History Channel blaring lots of gunfire and explosion noise.

And, of course, it could depend on the size of the house too.

I mean, it might be like we'd have to rotate sleeping arrangements or something.

Also, we'd have to have a rule that dealt with illegal stuff that could cause cops to show up and stuff.

I just mean the REALLY, REALLY weird stuff.

I mean, like we should all have our own fun and stuff, I just mean like firing .44 magnums off the front porch and things would be uncool.

Also firing potato guns at passing cop cars and stuff wouldn't be cool either. Not that we don't like potato guns, it's just that it's a hassle when the cops come up to your door and start asking you questions and shit.

Ok, the home brew I can help with, in that I have good expirence, the weird stuff naaa not me, but what if I threw in a nice Hard Body (female of course), good "classic" WWII videos, coleman stove and a good folding chair for the kitchen?

When can I move in?

I hope this idea doesn't go the way of my "SDOE LAN Party/Beerfest" idea.

P.S. Don't forget to bring some board games like Axis & Allies and Risk for when we need a short break from SDOE and OpenPlane especially.

Haven't got any of those reels but I have those cement bricks with some plywood sheets.... dam, that's not going to work, there will be big arguments on who gets the ends.
