One half of the Panel is 60% done, in the lower left corner will be the gear-indicator-lights. I got some problems with the horizon, and I think about using transparent needles (instead of my un-transparent ones). I think the instruments will use about 200 k of texture space (compared with 122 k for 64x64 sized instruments). This Pic is resized to 85%.

Bye !

Hi Laika, looks great!

Transparency maps slow down my frame rate a lot under direct 3d..

Yeah, thats why I used "normal" textures for the needles (even not an "extra" texture, its placed on this:

- my "detail" texture. As you know I use quadric polys for the gauges (=4 verts/faces), so I save polys and texture space this way. (I.e. the climb indicator uses 1 64x64 and some parts from the "detail" texture and 10 faces/20 verts compared with about 11 faces/11 verts for every "normal" round gauge). Of course it looks very "clean" or flat this way..but FPS rates are still good !?

some more pics

Enjoy ! You'll not see more in the next weeks

PLEASE NOTE - THE OUTSIDE TEXTURES ARE FROM ZOYCITE !!! Without those textures the Pe-2 wouldn't look this way...

Laika--

That is a sweet-looking plane!! I thought I recognized Zoy's artwork...hope things settle down for you soon. Take care of the real life stuff first...it's much more important. Patience will only pay off as this will be a plane worth waiting for

Hey Laika, wait till your middle-aged, run your own business, and have a wife, two kids, a dog, a cat, and a stack of bills as tall as the tail on a B-17! Then you'll REALLY wish you had some more time! Woo-hoo!

Good luck old chap. If you're smart enough to do this stuff, I'm sure you'll do just fine.

Lets see... a wife ? Hmm - a girlfriend, kids - I work hard - a dog is there (the original Laika). A cat was there before the dog ...

Bills - Dont ask !

So the first exam is no problem, I'm quiet good in soils and stuff (PODZOLS etc..), but there are 5 more to come - waaaaaaaaaa...

Tail ? Received my mail ?

I canceled 2 exams, so only 2 will stay (cause 1 is done) and I'm back at the top. No - don't get me wrong - If soemone is interested in a nice Il-2 movie -> check the other pe2-progress-post near the bottom.

Really - I'm not writing this to be on top for the next 10 minutes
