Whenever I use rockets in the game, they just sort of fall from my plane - they don't seem to go anywhere under their own power.

When they hit mother earth, they just sort of bounce without any heart warming explosion.

Does anyone know what might be happening?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you are not arming them before firing.

Try arming the rockets first. Use A to arm them

You have to arm those suckers?

@#$% manual! Maybe I'm not being fair...I rarely read manuals and mine is in French (which was pretty terrible at the time that I bought it).

Thanks guys. Now I can make something go boom.

Another quick question - if you have to arm rockets, does that also mean you have to arm bombs?

Mine don't seem to get the job done (although it's very possible that I'm bad at dropping bombs).

Either that or you've forgotten to arm them. (A-key again, then 6 for bombs in the bay or 5 for pylon bombs)

In a word, Yes.
Use A5 to arm pylon bombs, A6 to arm bombs in the bombbay. Also on the rockets, to single fire pairs (instead of ripple fire) Use A47. A48 to ripple fire (default).
