I installed the .exe version of Contest Pack 1.1 and now there is no music while I am flying.....

And,
Even before I installed the patch, after a long mission I would exit and the screen would go black and there would be no way for me to get to the menu screen. I always have to Ctrl+Alt+Del....

Any suggestions?

You have to have the cd in the drive to hear music while you are flying. This is the first I have heard of this bug. Can you give me more details ?

Last thing when you hit escape do you hear music ? With meatwaters sound pack I don't hear much of the music as the music on the cd is pretty quiet but I usually fly with a pantera cd in my drive and have to turn that up quite a bit to hear it.

I just redid a full install on my pc again and I still have music even though it is quite low so I really doubt your problem is related to the contest pack.

Have you tried putting in a music CD and just using the CD player to see if it's playing any music. It may be a CD read/sound problem rather than a SDOE problem.

Use a text editor like Notepad and Check your "sdemons.ini" file in the "Fighter Squadron" main directory. The following line should be in there.

PlayCDAudio=1

If it is = 0 Then it will not CD play the Music during flight.

or

If you have "SDOE 2000" by Spyder then you can just select it from the "Sound/Joystic" tab.

Have you taken a look in the error.log to see if any errors (as opposed to purely informational messages) show up?

black screen
delete you sdoe texture and cashe files
Add more ram to you system.
For win 95-98 you should have 128meg.
Over 128 is a waste of money.

Yes thats enough. Could you pop in a music cd or the fighter squadron cd and make sure your systems cd player is playing music loud enough to be heard in the first place please ?
