The latest is that I will soon be fixing a number of graphic and flight bugs (I hope this week, but things got thrown up in the air this weekend and I'm a bit swamped). Once those are done, I'll put together another beta which includes those and the sound fixes.IP: Logged |

Will it include a fix for Glide using a V5-5500 (I'm psyched about my new V5, but bummed I lost Glide with it)?

Hawker: No. It's not a bug (at least not the one where ground unit damage doesn't go across the net). If you're referring to the bug where bombers bomb forever, that was fixed that fall.Geo: Probably not. We still haven't gotten any V5's in house. IP: Logged |

Michael, Unless I am missing something there is still a bomb bug of some type. While flying last night, I bombed a airfield, upon mission completion the other online pilot (who was on my side) did not receive conformation, with back +, on Map screen or Alt O screen.IP: Logged |

Archer... and anybody else who is still confused about the bombs dropping forever bug:This bug was fixed in the Beta released last Fall, I believe it was build 61. What we commonly fly online is not this beta. That version of the beta was tested online for awhile (by myself and several other stalwart souls) but eventually grounded due to AC mismatch problems when using the PlanePacks. The ground unit damage problem still exists, even in the betas. I'm sure MH is getting tired of repeating himself on this... is anybody still maintaining the handy dandy doc? Kopper? Maybe this info could be added to it to help alleviate the confusion for the newer members of the community. -Stark [This message has been edited by Stark (edited 06-20-2000).] IP: Logged |

I'm sure this is in the Handy Dandy Doc somewhere, but I'll repeat it here to clarify the situation for Archer. There are two bugs that people might refer to as "bomb bugs." The first, bombers will start dropping bombs. On the machine that belongs to the pilot of that bomber, the bombs stop after the correct number of bombs. On some other peoples' machines, the bombs keep falling forever. This is what most veterans call "The Bomb Bug." This bug has been fixed in the last two beta patches. These beta patches have some other problems on many machines that keep them from being used in the online standard. The other bug is most often referred to as "The Ground Unit Bug." This one is technically not a bug. It was a design decision. The program has never attempted to synchronize damage of ground targets between machines. Due to lag, a bomb dropped on one machine will not necessarily land in the same place on other machines. Therefore, the bomb may land close enough to take out a flak gun on one machine, but that flak gun will still be firing on another machine. That "bug" has not been addressed, yet. IP: Logged |
