Well, here it is the last Friday before the first shots being fired in the SDOE WAR I.

I wanted to take this time to thank the 130+ flyers that have enlisted with their respective sides to take part in this event. Your participation is evidence that a sim many had written off as dead, is far from it.

I also want to let all the participants know that we in the War Department are striving to bring this community an event that is as "problem free" and mostly fun, as possible. However, it's the 1st time for us to, so issues will arise. Trust we will address these as they occur, and to the best of our abilities. We will appreciate you informing us any issues as you notice them.

Our hopes are that with this 1st installment of the War we can work through any problems, fix any bugs, and then make the necessary changes so that the next War will run even smoother. We also hope to be able to add to the general structure of future Wars, so that we can take advantage of the new terrains, aircraft,ground/sea units, etc.

Maybe in a future War we can include a Pacific, or Med theatre.

In addition to that, we are also looking at future Wars being more historical accurate. This would mean among other things that only aircraft that would have been availible during different times would fly, and as the War progessed the newer aircraft would be introduced. This could lend itself to some interesting strategies. It might even mean that if the Axis kept the War going past the time frame the real War ended, we could see the intoduction of the Go 229, and other aircraft which never saw battle in the real War.

Thats a little down the road, but I thought you might like to have a peek behind the curtain so to speak.

Well, I got off the subject again. I just get excited talking about the War, and what we hope it will bring to this community.

All I really wanted to say was...Thanks to all for the support so far, and we look forward to seeing the lobbies full on Sunday!

Leave it to me to turn that into all the above.

In future wars why not have aims for each side more clearly structured and have a time line?

Each mission time goes on. As time goes on new aircraft become available? As it stands nobody will ever use the early war planes : - (

Great Stuff though : - )

Or make the early war planes less expensive (therefore more attractive...) The A36 is less than a P-51B which is less than a P-51-D. Running low on warbucks? Which would you use?
