Private Roger Pilot	posted 06-10- 07:15 AM Just wanted to send out a thank you to all the flyers that have signed up to fight in the 1st installment of the SDOE WAR. And also my thanks to the Commanders whose job will be to keep things together as the tides of War eb and flow. The War will begin on Sunday, June 18th. How long it will last is undetermined. It will depend largely on the abilities of the respective Commanders and his pilots. We are all breaking new ground with this event, and the success of it could influence many things which we can only imagine. While the War rages I expect we will get lot's of input from all participants that will influence the form the next war takes. I look forward to that input. My hopes are that in future Wars we can incorporate new terrains, ground units, etc. We have an innovation announced almost daily on this board. Those innovations will undoubtably spill over into the War design. Anyway, I started to ramble. Razer Pilot	posted 06-10- 10:20 AM i might not make the first day. The computer is up and running great but the guy never shoed up to install DSL. And it takes 8 days for them to come back out. once they come out then i have to get the ISP people to come out so that will probably take anoterh 8 days. Spanky the Mad Dog Pilot	posted 06-10- 02:55 PM Spanky here... Razer, Maybe DSL is different down there but why do they come to your house? All ya do is pop in a network card, plug in the modems power and into the phone jack and then connect them with a network cable. then boot it up install the network card software and the internet connection software. All they do is switch on the line from their end. I got my stuff a couple days early and the line was all ready active, phoned the company and they started my account a couple days early and I was running in an hour. If I wanted to pay someone to do that for me it would have been $150. You can guess that i said no. LOL IP: Logged

FS_Newbie Cadet	posted 06-10- 09:31 PM Hey, thats nice to know. Will controllable ground vechiles be incoporated into this or any future war? (there are some cool jeeps and tanks being made, fully drivable, with working turrets. One tank even shoots shells!!) What about the zepplins/observation balloons? they could be used by the german commander as scouts (observation balloon would be real cheap). FS_Newbie P.S Hueys??? IP: Logged
nealg Pilot	posted 06-14- 12:52 AM FS_Newbie; It is the hope and dream of the organizers of the event that the limitations of SDOE War will be only those imposed by the limits of the sim itself. Therefore, whatever is possible in SDOE will likely see participation in future SDOE Wars. I think many of us are excited just to get it going..... ------------------ nealg=FC= IP: Logged
