I know I'm startin to be boring, but can anybody tell me how much will my heart have to go on bleeding before we'll see the updated mustang?

Thanks

Li'l

P.S.
Can anybody out there try to solve the water problem? Will we be ever able to see the Catalina land on the see or a torpedo slide against a cargo?!?

lb, I will post a beta tonight, With the progress we have so far. Most of the work was done by jedi.

We still have a ways to go but it is getting closer.

Raider et.al.

Good show, as usual. Are you sure this is the first beta? Looks a lot more like the real thing. It flies really well. You can feel that she's heavy and slippery, something one definitely notices if going a bit too fast down the glidescope for a landing. Feels a lot more like the P51 in FU-III (although that one is a lot more slippery and bouncy on landings.)

Only error I've found is a classic: Lost a wheel in a heavy landing and the gear wend right through the runway.

Thanks bjorn, I'll add that to the list of fixes.

Funny about the FM, it was not supposed to change, I took a look at it and thought I set everything back the way it was, but I missed the fuselage CYL airpoint. Now, even when I put it back it is still to stable.

We will need pang to work his magic again and make it spin a little easier. This should be fixed for the next beta.

BTW, our buddy jedi did most of the new modeling. I think he did a fine job.

Raider,

The P-51 is much better. Congratulations for the team.
Someone know how is the status of the P-47's improvements?
Some time ago I saw nice pics of improvements in DM and in the cockpit, but no more news.

Loco,

About the P47, we'll see. I've had a long long break from any work on it (well needed,) but I'm beginning to itch for working on it again. Unfortunately I'm totally lost for anything graphical, and JT's busy elsewhere Something'll happen with it, though, I'm sure.

Congratulations on the new P51. It looks really good. I guess you want constructive criticism, so here goes.

I have a practice mission - 4 P51s v 4 Me262s just taking off. More often than not with the old P51, the 262s were carved up by my side's AI in a turning fight. It wasn't my ace flying you understand. I was too busy wrestling the old flight model to do much damage. Now, on the evidence of 4 or 5 plays, my squad either disappears (collision, crash to ground?) or gets shot down by the 262s. I can comfortably fly the new version (with care - it does have a heaviness, a feel about it, and sinks in the turn), but I can't out-turn the 262s. Hard over, flaps down, I still find they're stuck at my four o'clock. This doesn't seem right. I can't even get a decent blackout. It can't be my incompetence, because even in the skittish old version I could turn inside an Me262.

By the way, is this version heavy on framerates?

Again, thanks for your great efforts to give us a P51 to be proud of. Please continue the excellent work.

Thanks for the feedback guys. The FM really has not been worked on yet. What happened is that I took a look at a couple of things and could not get it back to where it was. I was running out of time and so I went ahead and posted it.

Here is the plan

1st Get the FM back, so we have a good starting place.
2nd Fix the texture problems (distortions and texture bleed)
3rd Add canopy reflections
4th Add damage model
5th Fix minor bugs (collision points and such)
6th Tweak the FM based on historical data (It was already pretty close before)

If you have any other suggestions please let us know.
