Guys--Well I haven't seen anything all day here on the subject and have been absent-minded myself. But we who strive to create the perfect WWII (and WWI ) flying experience are the few who can pass on their legacy. Try this site to read some of their stories: http://aolsvc.pbs.aol.com/researchandlearn/wgbh/amex/guts/sfeature/voices.html ------------------ Brought to you by the campaign for a better Dauntless!

Bonjour! My fault too, I forgot the day but this day, I recorded an incredible document from the TV. 2 hours of movies filmed in colors from 1933 to 1945. Yes in colors, not colorized but in colors... Fanstastic!!! Awesome events that will all know in black and white playing in their all original colors. I saw the planes in action wearing the true colors, all the DDay, so close.IP: Logged |

Museums and Movies are fine... But IMHO there is nothing like seeing the real places. Last year I had the opportunity to see some of those D-Day places like Arromanches. Pointe du Hoc was kind of a shock for me. Everything here was left untouched since june 44, there is even a warning that there may be some explosives left and you enter at your own risk. Huge bomb craters, bunkers broken into little pieces, barb wire everywhere, and only the sound of the sea down below. It's not like something in the history books, you get a feeling like it happened yesterday.IP: Logged |
