well, it's easy.. these were Yes, still some work left to do, but the main parts are there and it shouldn't be long before I have it finished.. Question for you though... it's a float plane... we can't land on water yet, so would you like me to make it able to land and start on an airstrip? ~Nat~ ------------------ JV44 "Naturlich" If you can't out run em.. OUT GUN EM! Nats FS-SDOE Site

Don't most if not all float planes have wheels in the floats, even if just for taxing onto shore? Give it wheels we can land on and you wouldn't be that far off historically, IMO.IP: Logged |

I was thinking that myself Jerry, but I've found no data on wheels on the floats, they did produce a trainer version of this with landing gear, so I aint really sure, anyway it'd be a shame to make it and not be able to get full use out of it, so I think I'll add them.Since that pic I've altered the body shape to bring it into line with the illustration, the Vstab form and wingtips, and added large air intake on underside.. next I really want to get them floats lookin right I think, damn they look messy.. lol IP: Logged |

In the pictures I have seen of float wheels they are usually recessed in the float and barely visible or attached to the inside of the float with only a small arc of wheel below the float. If you do that they wouldn't spoil the look very much. Just a thought.IP: Logged |

Thanks Tony, but I think I'd have to make all the changes to that, that I have to the He100 I used, it looks like the M6A1 could easily have been developed from the He100 they bought, although I've not seen anything to support that yet.The body work is about finished except for the small adjustmentsin alignment of parts, where I will have the problems now not really being an a/c builder, will be slowing this thing down for one! 256kts should be max, it's alot faster than that. Setting the max alt to 9,000ft, however you do that.. and adding inertia boxes to the floats and supports, all that fun stuff you know IP: Logged |

Wow! The man's on fire! Looking very nice Nat. You know, if this project ends up finishing out nicely, what would you say to starting work on say, an Aichi D3A "Val"? I know there is Midway terrain sort of on hold, but imagine how much fun it would be if we had a solid USvJapan matchup. I know Razer is working on the army planes, but Japan really needs some sort of bomber, and the Val was the main dive bomber for the IJN (I believe). Anyhow, if you get the urge to work on the Val, I for one will be happy to help with Openplane stuff and FM/DM.charm IP: Logged |

Midway isn't as much "on hold" as it may appear... Thanks to a lil help from Will (Tell me your handle Will) we got a batch file sorted out, so now the whole terrain is water, with a little help I can change the islands I have made back to land, and a beta will be released, hopefully by next weekend It wont have any working AI airstrips, but once you have the beta, any patches will be very small downloads. As for building another a/c.. no promises, they are'nt really me thing yet, and will almost always come second to ground units, but M6A1 is an easy a/c for a beginer IP: Logged | |
