The article talks about EA as being a flight sim publisher. Didn't they just buy Jane's about two years ago - I'm not convinced they added any value to flight sims since (even with the publishing of the subsequent titles). It seems like they bought them and then decided to dismantle it. What a waste of money.

It looks like it would have made an amazing game.

The shot of the industrial ground targets through the bomb bay is incredible. Wouldn't you love to bomb the shit (can I say that now?) out of that?

Don't they realize what canceling this game means to their buisness!? I'll never buy another EA game, and I'm sure alot of other people are in the same boat as me.... I wonder if that fact figured into their brains. But I guess saving a few bucks looks better on paper.

I hope they just don't delete the game! Would it be possible that they would release it as freeware? Hell, it looks good enough to me! I would play it, heck I would even pay for it! (just as long as EA didn't get my money)

I hope a boycott is formally organized so disgruntled people like ourselves can express our anger in writing and pledge never to by an EA game again. Maybe then those idiots would think twice before cancelling something like that.

I know the legal issues make this praticaly impossible but it would be cool for the developer to polish it up a bit and release it as a download only game for 19.95 so at least it doesn't go to waste

Right you are, but there's no arguing around that this is a great loss. LG knows flight simming for sure, and they also know weather well (something that's generally extremely poorly modeled.) Seeing it all go down the drain feels like a major waste, at least if it's as close to competion as they say.

I hope Rowan's BoB is less buggy and has better multiplayer than their mig alley did. It took six months of patches before I could even run the game and have it recognize keypresses.

I was really looking forward to Flight Combat: Thunder Over Europe (the programmers still called it that). I am very disapointed by EA's decision. That game looked to be the best parts of all the games that had come before it, with many new and inovative features besides.

It seems to have been so close to completion. Hopefully the designers will find some way to still get it released.

Desert Fighters had many AVI's, press coverage and even a Demo going for it and it was still canned though, never to be seen again.

Anyone remember Nations?

What would happen to EA's reputation if they released it, and no one liked it?

I get flamed a lot when I post on forums, but, to me, I dont think those screen shots look all that good.

As we are each entitled to have one.

It is a bummer though, to me there is nothing more exciting than buying a new sim and starting it up for the first time to see what it has to offer. Well... maybe one thing...... Driving home from Electronics Botique, after purchasing a new sim... I find that very exciting

I think the screen shots are, indeed, good. Although I learned a long time ago not to trust screenshots, as they generally didn't match up to the product as installed on my computer. Still, with all the planned capabilities of that sim, I have to wonder 'What if..?' and bemoan it's loss. In fact, it's a sad moment when any game in this genre gets cancelled, whether I would have bought it or not.
