I haven't seen any flight sim with one yet.....is it too difficult?
SDOE is probably the most likely sim to have one since tail gunners etc are in the game.
.....'twould be nice....

CFS II should have one. I think Pete was thinking about it but i don't think anyone one is working on it.

Just build a plastic model of one of these babies-- this is going to be a BIG one-- it dwarves a lot of planes-- looking forward to seeing your product Sebulba!

I still am wondering how you'd get a flight of SDOE Avengers to randomly disappear and show up as a topic on 'Unsolved Mysteries'?

LOOK, POP!! It's B-17 II! Psyche! Heheh... goodness, October, only a year late.

Just wondering: could this be made to switch positions and man the rear guns like switching positions in the bombers?

Not so fast Pops

This skin isn't so hot but it was a from scratch skin to cover EAW's Avenger (the transparent cockpit will be fixed since that is now possible)
Theres nothing wrong with having the second Avenger in a current sim though. SDOE would give it details that will never be possible in EAW although both games could sure use a damn torpedo! It is one of the few Pacific planes to not yet be given much interest and attention (even now in EAW).

S! to all

Heya guys--

I thonk you are confusing pop with pops...they are not the same person. pop is pop because pops was already taken by pops...you get the idea. Besides, pops is pretty much a bomber guy.

When it is done, Sebulba will most assuredly have it be mannable in both pilot and gunner positions-- it can be done-- just look at the SBD

....those Avengers in EAW would have been conversions from the ancient PAW (Pacific AW) and I haven't tried them but I'm willing to bet the rear gun is unuseable...

Pop, the rear guns are unmannable by yourself (as are all gunner positions in EAW) but they are manned by the AI.

Here is an image of what can be done in EAW now This 3D model is almost entirely from scratch it was based on a very crude Mig17 model that was ported and then heavily edited, retextured and given a clear canopy by Paulo Morais. Skinned by Mosi.

Behold the TA183 (still in Beta)

*hazy recollections*

Pacific Strike by Origin a whole long time ago had one.

And the gunner spots were mannable.

That was such a fun game... really felt like you were in an old ww2 movie. (Except the big moral wingmen that wouldn't strafe the troop ships... *sigh* morals.)
It even had Kamikaze attacks, including Baka's.

Was quite a fun game (if you had a pc that could run it back then, that is :P)

Joseph - Do you have any URL's that discuss getting new models into EAW?... that last pic is lookin' mighty tempting...

Paulo Morais is the guy who've done the most work on editing EAW 3d Shapes, he ain't got no homepage as far as I know but most of his stuff can be found at Mosis at :

Dynamix' "Aces of the Pacific" also had an Avenger I think. And didn't Microprose's "1942: The Pacific Air War" have one? I remember practicing torpedo bombing with this one.

Pachy, that Avenger I posted a pic of is the one from PAW. That was ported over with all the rest of it's aircraft (F4F Wildcat, F6F Hellcat, F4U Corsair, SBD Dauntless, SB2C Helldiver, TBD Devastator, TBF Avenger, P-40 Warhawk, P-39 Airacobra, B25, PBY, D3A Val, Ki-61 Tony, B5N Kate, N1K1 George, Ki-84 Frank, G4M Betty, H6K5 Mavis) pheww..

Capt Farrel, yep he's the man.

To anyone whos interested, go to Mosi's add-ons section for all the planes he has improved or created so far. Progress has been made toward getting more editors from the developers which will make editing less laborious.

isn't the TBF a fairly simple extension of body etc to start with? I npw the FM etc is alot more work, but actually gettin one in the ait is a quick thing, similar to that M6Al Sieran I'm working on.
