Just a curious question to anyone else on AOL. I am playing around with different servers to see which one I like best-- Juno sucks by the way-- there is always a big fat banner in the way! Anyway- I am having trouble trying to get into a game when I see one-- as you all know I am not a newbie so I know how to get online-- but when I check either the servers or SDOE Beeper and see that there's a game going on- I go into SDOE and hit Network, Internet, and then California 12-- but then absolutely no lobbies come up (Aces Den or the other)-- it is just white in that field. Is there a fix to get this to show up or should I give up on AOL--- does anyone with AOL successfully fly online? Thanks!

I don't know about now, but I stopped using AOL as it wouoldnt support missions over 4 players, 6 if I was very lucky. They (AOL not your explorer) will also prompt you to see if you want to stay online because of what they percieve as inactivity. Unfortunately you cant see the plrompt as it immediately falls behind the SDOE screen. Since you cant see it, you cant acknowlege it so you get logged off.... AOL denies this (we had harsh words) but I happened to get off SDOE while the prompt was still visible.

What Snick says is true, although there are free progs to stop this available.. but... since the release of AOL4 the net connection from AOL has really sucked, plus AOL sucks your connection dry! It hogs your bandwidth for itself, so trying to use SDOE would now be like using a 28,800bps modem at the very best, damn you can't even use most vioce apps over it!

I'd just like to say.. AOL sucks the big one, and the sooner Steve Case gets hit by a bus the better.

Jeeves, Nat and Snickers are right. I've had 3 friends tell me the same thing about AOL. They said "If you want to play games online don't go on AOL, they suck big time". I'm on mindspring(about 2 years now), now earthlink and so far so good. I'm on a 56k modem but soon they say I'll be able to get DSL. How long is soon? Don't know. I also hear that Bell South has been kind of on and off lately. Hope this helps you out some.
Cheers
