since the recent closure of looking glass, the game janes attack squadron looks to become vaporware. http://www.ttlg.com/jas/ go there to sign a petition in hope to save this game.To be honest, I've never heard nor seen anything about this game. And i cant even find anything about it! Im curious to see what this game looks like. since looking glass had a good reputation and made great games. IP: Logged |

Spanky here.. Well I remember seeing some screen shots and it was looking decent. and the description of what they wanted to do with it was pretty cool too. PLUS the fact that LG was doing it was another plus.

Hey guys, this petition and JAS in general could be used as a barometer for support of wargaming simulations, particularly of the WWII genre by EA and other producers (like our best buddies over at *spit* *spit* Activision), so even if you don't give a hoot about JAS (like me) sign on! Think of it as a petition for WWII sims before 2010!!Werner  ------------------

Is this the NEW WW11 sim that Janes is supose to come out with ? I think Janes WW11 combat sim is KICK ASS, I LOVE IT, just wish we could modify the planes like we do in SDOE !------------------

Done. With the emerging trend of publishers to avoid prop sims, this could hopefully have a more far reaching effect than just JAS. So, whether or not you are/are not a fan of EA or Jane's, this could be worth signing.Otherwise, is the future filled with Panty Raiders, Deer Hunters, and Barbie Dates Army Men? ( er...wait...Barbie Dates Army Men - now, that could hold some promise!! hehe ) ------------------

I remeber emailing Looking glass after there site was under construction after xmas,i got a reply saying to expect the game in the summer.Man it probably is damn near complete,I was looking more forward to this one then b-17 2 as u can man the guns on the bombers ur buddy is flying etc and night missions and more planes and bombers from more countries then b-17 2 had to offer.
It would be a great shame for this one to be put on the shelf never to be released ......IP: Logged |

That is sad news indeed from avault, but sounds as if there is a ray of hope for the sim itself. Yes, sad news for the developers, and next for flight sims in general, and prop sims in particular.Money makes the world go around, and I guess they figure we don't spend enough of it. Well, the battle is lost.....but the war is far from over, I think.

Psi...Why so bitter as of late? I remember you as a pretty mellow guy not too long ago-- but lately you have been pretty hate-filled. Jeeves and others.I appologize for my recent outbursts and your right Jeeves. I guess I did bring this on myself and do appologize to all of you. I am very angry of late and like you said you get enough of that from work, life sometimes has no partitions and it does spill over. I am really not an angry person by nature so this is out of character for me.
As to "Flame Wars" I had resigned my self appointed post there prior to your post here.

slk, take a valium.I'm not a god and can't hear when people write or talk about me and I don't have an auto-pinger that tells me when someone does that. I check the board a few times a day, but not every hour on the hour. You have to give more time for a reply. Now, on to the reply... No, I am not singling you out (don't be so paranoid). Also, I don't do searches for naughty words, I just happened to read this post and saw yours. Apology accepted bro-- nice to have you back to your old self. I go into Flame Wars sometimes-- but only for a laugh. I rarely post there...but I do see where some people get pretty combative in there. That is fine-- I guess that's what that section is for. Me-- I guess I don't need to vent that way-- I find other ways to do it- like by flying. Although usually I'm just too tired to do much of anything-- man will I be glad when the next 2 weeks are out and my whiney students are out of my hair. And what am I going to do with my summer vacation you ask-- well teach summer school. Talk about someone needing a slap-- I think I'm the only one in high school all year round The men with the tight jacket may be coming to ole' Jeeves house real soon LOL. ------------------
