Well, finally had some time to work on the tiger2 some more: get it at www.mosquitonet.com/~blodgett/panzer2.9.zip New as of May 27 2000: corrected problem with zoom on external view, added a working hatch, use q key(canopy toggle) to lower tank commander and close hatch, q again to pop back out) Now has gun sight, 2 position tank, ai drives if waypoints are there. Hatch needs a cover yet, but Commander goes up and down with the Q command(canopy toggle command). Needs work on wheels + speed issues(this ones a bit fast, but it'll also climb small hills). Try it out! Especially Werner.

Actually I hadn't even looked at for months til last night. Still needs lots of work, but I've figured out a few things that were giving me trouble. AI still not moving to waypoints, but I think I can fix that. Main thing was to get those viewpoints where I wanted them, and just happened to get a gunsite in the process. If anyone wants to work on it, or use it, or link it somewhere go for it.IP: Logged |

Archy, there are a few problems... You can see the wheels at certain view positions and the F2 view is zoomed WAY out and can not be zoomed in.IP: Logged |

Yeah, the wheels are not obhidden yet, I plan on replacing them to get rid of some of the bounce at top speed. The zoom thing, I don't know whats going on with that, I'll try to figure that out. IP: Logged |

Hey Archy! I'm glad to see you've made progress on the Tiger, perhaps you can help me with the T34 this summer? I look forward to taking your new ride for a spin this weekend. A couple questions, though: I recall that in previous betas every second main gun shell (the non-tracer ones) were ineffective at destroying buildings. I tested this by shooting at two identical buildings side by side at nearly zero range, one with just tracer rounds and one with just non-tracer rounds. Every experiment showed I could blast with non tracer until the cows came home and the building wouldn't even smoke. Any ideas? Also, does the tiger have a new skin yet? Finally, how are the key controls mapped?Sounds awesome! Werner ------------------ It's coming... The NEW bcatp! Stay tuned for details! IP: Logged |

The dummy round is a consequence of the game engine I think. What we can do is just double the rounds, and the rate of fire for the main gun. No new paint job yet(one is needed) I need to mess around with ac3d a bit to get the holes I made (for turret hatch, and gunner view) perfected. Only special control is the q key to raise and lower the commander. There are two positions in the tank, commander(who is also the pilot, viewpoint changes when q is pressed) and gunner. All control is via the joystick(currently have rudder mapped to rear wheels, but I'll be changing that soon.IP: Logged |

Updated to panzer2.9 may 27 2000. Fixed external zoom problem. Added working hatch(tied to canopy key) Hid the wheels *note parts of the gunsite may appear as the commander lowers inside the turret, working on it. www.mosquitonet.com/~blodgett/panzer2.9.zip [This message has been edited by Archy (edited 05-28-2000).] IP: Logged |
