I wouldn't be against a Betty. Especially if it can drop those kamikaze jets. Those suicide things would suit my pilots skills IP: Logged |

Definitely! A Betty would be nice... Japanese need some bombers plus we could have a mission to re-create the demise of Yamamoto. Of course, you're free to do whatever you want ------------------ -=TheReaper=-

I'd like to see a Betty. That Yammamoto mission sounds cool. 4 P-38's go after 4 zero's and 2 Betty's. No HUD, No enemy targets on the map, just a compas heading and 3 to 5 minutes of flying hoping to spot the general. weasel ...

Spanky here... For sure man. I would say the betty or. Another good fighter. We would actually maybe even use some earlier varient of the zero for earlier war stuff.

I think that the Val would be easier and nice to have, although I want to see a betty too. Also, I know there are some fst or fsd files of a Val floating around somewhere... might be a good starting point.charm IP: Logged |

Yes, that's the Ki-61 in my tag. It's moving slowly since i know nothing about DOF's and it needs major work on the new gear and gear doors. I started on a Ki-84 last night and i'm about 40% done on the basic model. I also have working models of the Ki-43 and Ki-44. After playing with the N1K in Aces High i want to do one of those also. That's why i was wondering if people wanted more japanese planes. ------------------ Tony "Razer" Martin http://www.fshangar.com [This message has been edited by Razer (edited 05-25-2000).] IP: Logged |

Of course we pick the bombers Other than the few variants f the 88 that are out, no one has released a new bomber!! I so wish I had the time and patience to learn... if I could have any planes I wanted- I would definitely pick bombers-- and why not- this is one of the few games where we can man the bombers stations. I'd love to see the B-24, B-25, B-26...and those are just the American ones A Betty would be great-- and I can't wait to see the He-111 (and a Condor would be nice)--or a German dive bomber (you know the one ) We need more bombers in this game!! In between classes this summer I am gonna see if my patience holds out fr learning how to model...but I an not getting my hopes up ------------------ Brought to you by the campaign for a better Dauntless!

I'd love to see the shinden finished.. I got the flight model all working, even the AI flies it but it needs a complete 3d model redo and skin. I still fly the unfinished one around just because it's got such a different feel to it. TS ------------------ Patch It! TS Aircombat

Razer, we need.... just about more of every thing! A bomber would be great! But fighters most WWII games dont have would be great as well! How bout a Mitsubishi J2M3 Raiden? Or a Mitsubishi A7M1-2 Reppu? I would LOVE to see the Shiden finnished!! (I really feel this plane should be next in the line for you) Its a plane basicly no other game has done descently. Go for the Shiden. The FM I hear is basicly there.Tailslide, how bout sending me that new SM and such? IP: Logged |

http://tailslide.firelight.dynip.com/Files/shinden-alpha1.zip It's actually alpha 2 but I got too lazy to rename the file. Its got bits and pieces borrowed from the zero and other planes so make sure to have the contest pack installed. Also make sure the reverse.ppf airfoil is in your startup.ppf file. TS

Razer,Scan the top view and the side view of the 3d plan then texture them on 2 separate polygons. Make sure the polygons are the correct scale and then just rotate and move them in the correct position. I think I already spent more than 8 hours on this. Like I said I might finish it in 3 months.

I tend to do a better job on the plane when i do it looking at an image other then using plans. I know, i know it wont be 100% accurate but i still do better that way. I still like the images D, it helps to get the cross-sections to look right. only so much you can see in a 2 image. ------------------

I'm running the following setup.PIII 733/133 BF6 Abit Mobo 128 megs PC133 mem. Voodoo3 3000 16 megs There is an option to up the FPS in the INI file if your running a fast puter like me. I don't have SDOE installed on my system due to the thing crapping out on me. I think the default is 70 FPS max, so i'd look up near the top of the INI file for 70 and see what the command says. if it has something to do with fps then up it. Mines set on 130 and i can get that when i'm alone, with planes it stays around 70. ------------------

An 'Okha' ploted kamikaze bomb would do fine, just convert the shape from Pete Hawk's flyable V1, and add a three barrel rocket booster on the tail, and remove the pulse jet, and add twin tails and a canopy.here is another short wwii history: The Okha was dropped from a Betty at a 25 (?, could be more) mile range from its ship target, and the piloted bomb will glide to its target at high altitude(betty releases it at 20000+ft) Somewhere near the target the pilot will nose the Okha towards the target ship and fire the rocket boosters, accelerating it to over 600mph, maybe over mach1. It is very much like flying Hawk's V1 in SDOE, except that it is a glider in 'transit-to-target' mode and is a guided rocket in 'terminal' phase, instead of the pulse-jet of the V1. The Okha has a canopy for the pilot, who is sealed inside the kamikaze vehicle before takeoff, and has a twin tail, and is straight winged. This is my suggestion. -------------------------- If you do not have Hawk's V1 d/l it at the Fighter Squadron Extreme site. His other projects, the F14, F15, A4, and the flyable Zeppelin are there. They are cool!!!
