Well as the community is now getting bigger than a family of rabbits in full flow we still have one major problem. There is still only ONE major time in the week when we all get together...8:30pm BST Sundays. We could so easily compete with those Warbirds and Red barron groups by having lots more on-line times in which we can fly anytime on-line all the time..(pretty much)Until the community get bigger I suggest we start small. Lets start a second time MIDWEEK for large scale on-line flying. I'm proposing Wednesday nights at about 8:30pm BST - about 11/12pm BST or what ever happens.
Just some thoughts? What are your comments and thoughts? On another note I know that the east side of the world will mostly still be at work at this time in the week and so maybe another time could be arranged for those in the US and around that way?
I.e: we would have midweek times for Europe and Eastern and then Sunday for the WHOLE world? ------------------ "MrBlob is Currently Working on: The BE2c" Check out my WW1 Website for Fighter tactics and History: www.MrBlob.Freeserve.Co.uk/doattt

Blob, Maybe it would be a good idea to tell everyone including myself what BST is and how does it compare with GMT. As for me in Mountain Daylight Time US I am -7:00. Pacific Daylight Time is -8:00 etc... PsiIP: Logged |

BST = British Summer TimeGrenich Mean Time = ??? I know Europe is BST +1 hour and I think Canada is -6 or 8 hours and central America is about -8 hours... Hope this helps...hence why you have a American night squad time and a Europe time ------------------ "MrBlob is Currently Working on: The BE2c" Check out my WW1 Website for Fighter tactics and History: www.MrBlob.Freeserve.Co.uk/doattt

Hello, Mr. Blob.Well, Red Baron is VERY different, in that the on-line experience is not mission based. There can be planes there any time at all, and there is no long wait in the lobby waiting for another mission to start. Just find a game and join in. I think that FSSDOE online would have been better with that as an option, at least. (As I recall, that is how Air Warrior 3 is too.) And Red Baron has SO many more players still. Even though it is fraught with FM problems and damage model problems, because these are being slowly worked out over the years, the level of interest has remained high, even in the FAULTY FM and DM modes of the game on the net. The reason, tho', that I've started playing FSSDOE is that it has the most progressive community (of the nonMicrosoft based games) ... and the game was a present ! Just a comment, not a criticism. I would if I where you shoot for 10pm onwards as you could then catch up with the east coast in the US as we are 5hours behind. That way I think you will have more chance of a bigger group. And I would love to fly when I get home at 5:20 or so as waiting for those guys on the west coast is making me very tired as I'm finding myself up until 3am. Last night was a prime example 3-4 people at 10pm EST but then at midnight we had 8-14.IP: Logged |

Bulldog1, could you read the "Calling All East Coast Pilots" post. If what I said sounds good, email me. It would be nice to have a early time for us east coast people who want to fly online but have to get up early. Maybe we could even get the guys from over the big pond to join us if it is not too late for them. Cheers Himdog outIP: Logged |

Aaron where are you from? Tonight some of us east coast flyers will be sitting around at approx 7-9pm, UK-12-2am, west-4-6pm. It would be nice though if we could lets say on a Sunday all try to meet up, something like BST-9-10pm,EST-4-5pm,West-1-2pm. Especially with SDOE war on the horizon this will need to happen. A flight tonight sounds like a good idea to me. If we can get bulletins posted for online flying times, it would probably help all of us whereever we may be. I'm a uk FSSDOE flyer myself but have found it very difficult to find anybody on line at the times I'm looking. Knowing what times to look will make it a lot easier.see ya FF IP: Logged |

The date might come in handy as well, instead of "tonight" PsiIP: Logged |

Tonight is wednesday 31st of May (i cant even shorten it to numbers since you use inverted ones).Bulldog Im not sure its easy to accomodate Europe and East coast on week days since most of us (the whole western part of europe except UK and Eire) are one hour ahead of BST(btw BST isnt Gmt, Brit winter time is, Gmt is fixed, also known as Universal Time) So for instance your hours for tonight mean 1-3 am here in France. I'm sorry but its a bit late...that's also worth for Sunday I find the current time is already late (9.30pm here) so getting it later would probably prevent me from playing. I m working too.. Also for people from around here you can play with late Western coast guys at 6 8 am CET (5 7 Brit), I have been doing this for almost 10 months now and it works great especially since the traffic here is at its lowest... Get up early and play before work: its nice to drink coffee instead of beer while playing ------------------ -=BAB=- Luny

It is you that have the months to days inverted Luny, example todays date (as we see it) is 5/31/00. I believe you would say it 31/5/00 correct? And to give you a layout of the time zones in the US starting on the east coast if its 12:00 noon (PM) its 11:00 AM Central, 10:00 AM Mountain, and 9:00 Pacific. My question to you is if its 12:00 noon (PM) EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) what time is it in you time zone, and is your time zone BST? One other thing before I let you go the coffee over beer thing FEGITABOUTIT!!! Thanks PsiIP: Logged |
