Some people are reporting that certain gauges in the P-47 cockpit are strobing. Apparently this is only happening with video cards running Glide. My video card only supports D3D, so I'm kind of at a loss. Could someone make a list of exactly which gauges are flashing? Also, I think I know what's wrong with them, but I'm open to suggestions if anyone else thinks they know the answer.

I reported it too for the:
amp meter
mag compass
attitude indicator

These strobe but only in the forward mode if I go to a clossup key F9, F11, F12 it doesn't happen. I reported it using D3D on a 3D Prophet ge-Force card but since I have dual capability (i.e. twin DMII Monster II 12 MB cards in SLI mode for Glide 3Dfx) I need to check which I have active for SDOE. And then try the other mode I guess.

Oops! You were correct! I was running Glide when I switched over to the ge-Force (primary graphics card) all was fine. But since I get better framerates using Glide (go figure) I hope you do get it corrected.

Thanks, guys... I'll try to fix it when I get back from work tonight. I'm fairly certain I know what's going on with it. Also, because the P-47 has the cockpit art in a separate .sm file, I'll be able to issue changes without causing conflicts online.

Thanks, JT!
I get the effect with the Realistic and Very Detailed cockpits. It's just the two instruments that flash. Can't test it right now... but I am running in Glide also.

Hey,

I think I have it fixed, but I'm not sure... is it the needles that are flashing or the gauges or both?

OK... I'm not sure if it's fixed. If anyone would like to try, simply download the stand-alone P-47 and install it (it will take precedence over the plane-pack P-47, but shouldn't cause conflicts). You can find it here...

http://home.adelphia.net/~woodpanel/fgi/fgi_main.html

Please let me know if it works. Thanks!

JT, the one you just uploaded is the stand alone right? If so I just got it and it doesnt work. The gauges still clip, sorry. But I did notice something. The gauges clip whenever the plane is moving or shaking. I held the plane perfectly still and the gauges stopped clipping or "flashing" maybe this info. will shed some light.

Darn it... still can't get it to work. I'll try again tommorrow. I'm probably missing something that should normally be obvious.

JT - you are batting 0.66!!! Hot damn!

The amp meter is now fine as is the mag compass. however, the frame around the attitude indicator (the metal plate0 is still strobbing. But you must know now what causes it so please work your magic! I downloaded the whole zip file but only installed the P47Dpit.sm file.

JT! I get the same thing as Speedbrake. What ever you did it fixed most of the problem. Congrads! Just the one panel around the ALT indicator. After you fix that, you should probably do the same to the ULTRA-REAL panel. Thanks a zillion JT. This is most appriciated.
