hmm, where shall i put this under...

In one of the training missions with the Spitfire Mk1a of Plane pack 5.3b I deliberately cut down a radar tower, having half of the starboard wing sliced off.

This is the funny part. I was able to fly the plane properly with 1/2 of the right wing missing with no assymetrical lift problems, and I landed safely with gear down and no other problems, aside from 1/2 of the wing missing.

I then tried flying the Spitfire V and shearing off 1/2 of one wing, and I immediately lost control of the aircraft.

Yes, same experience for me with the corsair...
I was able to fly, and even to land with just one wing left!!

I saw an interesting story of a fellow in in the pacific that managed to shear off 3 to 4 feet off both wings by flying between palm trees.. he still brought his plane home and landed it.

I dived a B17 above max spd at 400 mph and the outer portions of both wings got torn off and I lost aileron control, but I landed safely using elevator and rudder control.

Spanky here..

Yeah some planes are a little too flyable after crazy damage. It will get better with each revision of the FM though.

Ok....
I dived down over London at 900kph straight between two busty women, had a quick grope on my way past then went on to France and straffed 25 flak guns with only 2 303's blazing...I sank two ships by ramming my gear into their decks so hard they capsized then managed to knock off a V1 heading over the channel by wacking it one with my open canopy....on my return I did a loop with a half twist and sumersault and landed backwards...on one wheel.....
but you try and tell the kids that today and they won't believe ya....
