I have Meatwater's sound pack installed, but the engine run sound for the P-38 and the P-51 don't seem to work. When I start up the engine I hear the engine start sound, then there is a pause, and sometimes a squeal. Then, silence. Except, of course, the wind noise. I'm getting the same thing with the Jug and the Corsair. All the other sounds work fine, except the gear sound on the Corsair, which doesn't seem to work either. I get a high-pitched squeal and then nothing. I tried all the different settings; 16-bit, 8-bit, 11KHz, 22KHz, 44KHz, but to no avail. I normally run 16-bit, 44KHz. I can play the engine run and other sounds just fine through Windows Media Player or Sound Recorder 32. I have DirectX 7 installed. It just plain sucks not being able to hear the engine of the P-47, P-51, P-38 and F4U in flight. Anybody got any ideas?...HELP! ------------------ -=TheReaper=-

Reaper, Have you tried reinstalling the sound pack. Might be possible it has become corrupt... PsiIP: Logged |

That would make sense, but it doesn't explain the P-47 or the F4U. I did try reinstalling the sound pack, but it didn't seem to have any effect. I find it very strange. The other engine sounds are working fine (startup/shutdown) and all of the engine sounds on the B-17, FW-190, etc. work just fine also.------------------ -=TheReaper=-

Reaper, Sometimes when I use a lot of stuff in a mission I notice that my sound suffers too. I think that in those circumstances your sound is sacrificed for graphics. When do you have a problem with it, all the time or in certain missions??? Psi[This message has been edited by slk (edited 05-20-2000).] IP: Logged | |
