Well I finally got that new hard drive in that I got a couple days ago, I was all pissed when it didn't come in before last weekend and it turns out it just sat here for half a week anyways.

It is WAY quiter then the old one thats been being noisy lately, That old drive actually scarried me today it was REALLY making some crazy noisies today. And I'm just talking while it was spinning while idleing. I wasn't even using it at all.

Anyways its in, 3 times as large as the old one. It came out to 9.5 gigs after the overhead. decent And that extra speed reallly complements the new DSL.

Pretty happy with it and I'm glad I got the 10gig at 7200 rpm instead of the 13 gig at 5400.

Of course after all the hardware drivers and DX7a went in, the first game on the drive is already in, good ol SDOE. (I knew I would get on topic somewhere in here)

It loads up like a dream, And the game doesn't stutter when I fire my cannons for the first time NOR when I crash. It used to cause I guess it was loading the sounds and graphics.

Anyways I'm loving it. Now for the drudgery of loading all the other crap I had going and to get litestep all setup again.

hehe, Onto all the plane packs and SDOE utils.

I also have to go christen this new drive with its first peice of ass

What sucks about it is there a 3 year 2 day replacement warrenty in the states but in the states only.

I guess its still 3 years up in canada but I guess that 2 day rule doesn't apply.

I wish i had the money for a 14 gig
but with a burner its really no big deal.

I don't run a virus checker so yeah I have tried it with out it running LOL.

And no I havn't had any problems with viruses.

Have I run it with out virus app running.

Yeah I does depend on you you have it setup.

But I like to run my machine as clean as possible for best performance, so no virus checker here.

I do have one and just run it when I want to. I hate stuff thats preconfigured to run cause it always picks the worst tiems to do it.

Does anyone remember where i pick the option and time for a drive to shut down?

It does right now but I think its an hour and its really annoying.
