Hmmmmmmmmmm.....thats a good one. I have had my plane drop when I was manning a gun but to the best of my memory not when I was piloting. Usually it will only drop reliably if you are flying lead. I'm not really sure because 99% of the time I jump to bombardier for the drop.IP: Logged |

You can still pilot from the bomardier's position, but you have to be careful. One thing very much missing is a view for the bombardier's position that isn't actually looking down the sight (compare this with Warbirds). The other thing that would be nice would be a second autopilot mode that allows you to make small corrections, only to have the plane come back to straight and level afterwards, but at whatever throttle setting you had given. Anyway, currently you line up as best you can from the pilot's seat. Engage the auto pilot. Jump to the bombardier's position, select, arm, open doors. Now see how well you are lined up. If you aren't stay in the bombardier's position and unclick the autopilot make a _small_ adjustment, and put the autopilot back on. Repeat until time to drop the load. IP: Logged |

If you let the plane fly autopilot and you only man the gunners or another position, it will eventually bomb the target. Question is when? When you are in the Bomb Aimers position and are trying to bring the target into line in the sights, you are actually flying the plane, not just moving the bombsight. I have a page on my site on how to bomb in SDOE. It is at http://free.prohosting.com/~kopper/acmsdoe.htm Good luck and welcome to the Bomber's Guild! ------------------ Kopper Fortunae Nihil (Nothing to Chance) OPPs Making SDOE a Dangerous place. The AI gunners eventually do shoot when you are flying. It is good practise to wake them up and they will start shooting sooner. The way to do this is to cycle through the positions via F7 and hit F6 while in each position. This wakes them up and they will open up as soon as an enemy plane comes within range.Happy hunting. ------------------ Kopper Fortunae Nihil (Nothing to Chance) OPPs Making SDOE a Dangerous place. Trust me, if you take on a B-17 on max. settings you will get shot at, shot up, and shot down. Especially when attacking from behind.IP: Logged |

Not if you use the Go229. That flying wing is so d@mn thin the B17 gunners cant hit it.But it cant turn very well and I need to fly with full flaps all the time. IP: Logged |
