Just wanted to let folks know ahead of time that there is a good chance I am going to be hosting quite a few fighter vs. fighter contests when I host for the next little bit. This is not because I am a tasteless gnome who doesn't appreciate the incredible excitement of flying a well-designed mission.
This is because I am an extremely overworked middle-aged weenie, who has barely had time to really fly and get to know the new FM's.
I felt I knew the old FM's like the back of my hand, and when I get into the new planes, I feel like sometimes I don't know which end is up, or how to fly them.
I also want to make it clear that I am not complaining about the new FM's, because I understand that we are striving towards having these aircraft react with each other in the sim, to more closely approximate how they might have reacted to each other in real life.
I am simply stating that with the new FM's, I'm kind of like a babe in the woods, and need some practice.
So, just wanted to alleviate any aggravation, unnecessary dropping out of games, or posts about how hosts these days just don't seem to want to fly really neat missions, which might indicate a lack of seriousness, or arcade-like attitude towards the history of combat aircraft in WWII.
I can assure you, this is not the case.
As soon as more of us get hip to how these puppies fly with each other, the new missions that will be created will be a gas to fly, and so much more the better for us all.
By the by, is there somewhere where we can start collecting missions in a neat online missions folder? It'd be cool to have a repository available, with readme's or notes explaining the theory behind the missions, etc.
