First off, hi everyone...Right, should I buy SDOE?? or something else?? I really like playing online games (Counter-Strike etc.), but hark back to the good old days of Hellcats (anyone else remeber taht one?). What are the specs needed for it?? I havn't got a joystick, and prefer to use a mouse instead anyway (from my Amiga days). Is it possible to use the mouse with it, or do I have to buy a Joystick? Any advise is appreciated...

Buy SDOE? Yes! I have definately gotten my moneys worth (and quite a lot more by at least an order of magnitude) out of this game. I flew it with a mouse (well, trackball reall) when my daughters fiance installed it on her machine. Not a problem.Just remember, mice guys finish last... ------------------ Snickers =FC= IP: Logged |

Hey Bourne.Actually, if you want to get a really good, cheap joystick to see if you like using a 'stick at all, I suggest a Gravis Blackhawk. I've used one for a year or two now, and I see them all the time at Circuit City and Electronics Boutique for $19.99 US. That is the non-digital model. It works really well, has a great short-throw feel, and has four buttons and a throttle wheel. It would be a good way to test the waters without emptying your wallet. If you found you were hooked on flight sims and joysticks, you could let yourself go as far as you wanted with high-tech force-feedback digital wunderstiks. Actually I better get off my butt and pick up a replacement for mine soon. They'll probably discontinue them shortly, and I'd feel lost and lonesome if I didn't have a backup ready and waiting the day mine fails. Just me two cents. European Air War from Microprose (?)out about at the same time as SDoE, one of the competitor on the WW2 sim market. I never liked its FMs, but some appreciate the campaigns and the "massive multiplayer" possibility.------------------ ___________ -=BAB=-Luny [This message has been edited by Luny (edited 05-04-2000).] IP: Logged |
