Well, not really a dime, just a little time. I think everybody in here probably has a warm spot for EAW. Come on, admit it. I myself played it for about a year until I discovered how great our SDOE was. If I had room on my HD it would still get my offline airtime. Now it seems that the hardcore EAW crowd is petitioning Microprose for the same thing that we got; the codes. Considering it was the realease of the mysterious "codes" that allowed our game to become so great, I think the same could only do wonders for EAW. If you've seen the fantastic mods that so many people have already done for EAW, I'd say those guys deserve it. If you agree, go here: http://www.combatsim.com/csp/WWCcontests.pl?action=entryform&id=&filename=eawpet Thanks pal! ------------------ "Repoman is always intense." IP: Logged |

hhhmmm.... nope, never tried it.... I got a soft spot for F117 though, I still have it on a single 1.44mb floppy disk that I can play it from! Those missions used to kick ass.. and the AI is pretty damn good.. shame about the graphics though IP: Logged |

I'll admit it, I'm proud. EAW is the BOMB. I love that game. But do you seriously think that Hasbro even wants be anywhere near that word "SOURCE CODE" after what happened with Falcon 4?IP: Logged |

Just what I was thinking Dan. It'd be pathetically funny in a way if they got the source and we didn't though TS

we never got "the codes"We got a sim that was built with end user creativity and expandability in mind. I dont know why people feel they have a right to demand a company release the source code for all to see and do with as they please, especially a commercially viable product such as EAW. "Well they're not doing anything with it!" Well that doesn't matter at all! They expended $xxxxxx in resources to create the source code. Bad analogy time: Say you want to build a pool in your yard. But you want a biiiiig pool... and your neighbor has that backyard that s/he's not even using!... sooooo you'll just go ahead and take a bit of it! (Oh my lord that was a bad analogy) I dont care what kind of causes or conditions is included with the source, parts and peices of it/inspired from it will find their way into commercial products... be it now or be it 5 years from now. My two cents is that I don't think that petition has a snowball's chance in hell of getting what it's asking for. Nevertheless, a fella can dream and hey, a little rabble rousing never hurt anybody.IP: Logged |
